Monsgeek M2: www.monsgeek.c...
Today I build and review the Monsgeek M2 1800 CNC Aluminum keyboard kit, a solidly built 1800 keyboard from the company that brought us the M1. Another winner in my opinion, what do you think?

It's a great board. The value proposition compared to other 1800's is insane.

I saw a Reddit post about the M2 and loved the pictures and the posting on the monsgeek site so much that I immediately ordered the purple kit and the same keycaps you used, except the white on black. I also ordered the KTT haluhalo switches. I’ve been dying to try them out! Basically I’ve been waiting so impatiently for everything to come in and your video made me even more excited! I’ve modded a few boards, but I’ve never played with a barebones kit! So I’m very happy and thankful to have your video as a guide when I do it myself 😊 thoroughly enjoyed your video!

Great video! Currently making my Monsgeek M1 video and judging from what I experienced and what I'm seeing here with the M2, I might have to crown Monsgeek as my top recommendation for beginner keyboardists. Really can't wait for their 65%.

Wonderful looking and sounding board, which is very much fueling my desire to own an 1800 board. The value proposition on this is crazy, and i has the added advantage of being a kit, so I get the fun of building it too! Another great video Mark, keep it up, I love them!

I like the frosted plate. That will help diffuse the rgb. I have been tempted to hand cut a thin diffuser for my GMMK.

Sounds fantastic! I actually prefer a little scratch in my switches. Creams and Gateron Yellows remain my two favorites. Though, many newer Yellows have less scratchiness from Gateron's lubing process.

Nice review and thanks for sharing. 👍😎 I just wish it had a volume knob because I really like their purple one and KBDfans is brainwashing people into not using LED. I know that there are a lot of insane arguments out there about North versus South LED but for shine through key caps North is the best. I guess people forget that North facing LEDs was sold for years upon years prior to South facing... I do like its sound, reminds me of my AKKO MOD 007V2.

I don't see why you wouldn't 3D print some side panels in whatever color or style you want. I figure if you sand them you should be able to get a really nice fit and finish. Like I was thinking of getting this keyboard and then replacing the side panels with some translucent resin print with some mica powder.

I have a Keychron Q5, and I'm really struggling to see how this thing is inferior at all aside from not having options for a knob or alu plate. Maybe it's not as good without case foam? I just have a little polyfill in the Q5 and like the sound a lot. Definitely better than the junky stock foam keychron uses.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Keychron Q3 and Q1V2, but Monsgeek boards so far are just hitting it out of the park.

how does this compare to the nuphy halo96 in your opinion?
@MechKeyboards
@MechKeyboards Жыл бұрын
Good question; they are similar yet different. The Monsgeek is much more substantial since it's fully aluminum, it comes with a PC plate and screw-in stabilizers. The Halo96 has a hybrid top mount, a unique RGB halo, wireless, and comes with switches and keycaps ready to go. They are both great boards, I'd say that the Monsgeek is for someone who doesn't mind opening it up to build and install the stabilizers, the Halo96 is for someone who needs wireless and want something that is ready to go.
