You guys really liked my Coca Cola, Sprite and Red Bull time lapses, so I decided to do another drink themed video.. This time I put a can of Monster to the test. Monster time lapse.

It doesn't mold, but if you let it sit long enough it becomes the world's worst throat and cough reliever syrup

@@REC-L because they used to, make cola syrup, tasted like cola(no caffeine)...but syrup.. they sold it for sore throats, with no medication in it, and I used to like it for coughs n such So I can imagine the taste of monster in syrup form, but also those effects of caffeine, taurine, the b vitamins and such, would amp you up and be terrible That's how I know enough to know that adding the caffeine and taurine and energy vitamins would not be great

I'd be very interested in seeing timelapse videos of other "edible" products that won't mold. (P.S. It might also be interesting to see what would happen to said products over time after adding various catalysts that would be found in an average human digestive system. Although I don't know how practical or feasible that would be...)

No monster definitely does mold. I accidentally lost a can that had about a quarter left and when i saw it and retrieved it, it had one of those layers of greenish mold film when i poured it out. Idk how long exactly it had been sitting but bo longer than a couple months.

It must have been one of their other flavours, probably one with fruit juice, or sugar free version. I think mine didn't mold because it had too much sugar in it right out of the can, and as more and more water evaporated the even higher sugar content prevented it to mold even more

@@PhotoOwli'm pretty sure monster in general is sugar free, unlike redbull. They still do use dramatic amounts of replacements and there is still a lot of other ingridients (for example a lot of golden colours in products have a sticky texture in raw), but this is probably a part of why there is not a lot of nutrients for mold. Wondering what would happen with other energy drinks. Plus, the more water evaporates, the higher the concentration of "energy" components, and they are very bioactive

It could be since you introduce bacteria into the can via spit it managed to mold. I'm not sure how that would work with caffinated or sugary drinks, but whenever something touches someone's mouth, I automatically assume it to be contaminated

I think it's the sugar that doesn't mold. Energy drinks already come with plenty sugar and the evaporation just makes it stronger.

One way I’ve seen is that you cool the drink, while still un-opened, down to frozen temp. At 32 Fahrenheit the pressure of the drink in the can as well as the chemical composition will keep it liquid, however, when poured, it will immediately begin to freeze solid. Not as quickly as this appears, though, this sculpture was probably made by slowly adding more liquid to the top of that leaning tower and turning it to give it the effect like it flash froze when poured. That’s my guess!

in february i got really ill. i kept coughing violently in the night (so much so it pissed my sibling off) so to not piss them off any more i filled a bottle with 7-up and took it to bed. didnt drink a lot so most of it was left in there as of rn (may) it's still there. it's gone a little fluffy. at this point im too scared to touch it in case the demons within bite me
