Welcome back!
Catty Noir has FINALLY dropped and I was lucky enough to snag her! She’s been found at Walmart in the U.S. and I ordered her online for $25 since I wasn’t finding her locally.
She’s our second new Core Monster High doll released this year following Venus McFlytrap. Catty is a black cat so there are bad luck themed design elements such as broken and shattered mirrors and the number 13 repeated throughout her design.
Having opened her and held this doll, I am so in love with her! She has a beautiful new body sculpt in addition to a new head sculpt and you can really feel the love and attention the designers put into her.
She does come with some shortcomings such as lackluster fashion which is disappointing. Her jacket in particular feels a little cheap.
Overall I am obsessed with Catty and think she is a fangtastic addition to the Monster High G3 lineup!

That would be fantastic! I'm doing a Freak du Chic dressing room featuring the dressing room playset from Frights Camera Action and each individual ghoul's vanity playset (Cleo, Frankie & Clawdeen) I'd LOVE to add Catty to the mix. Maybe Al Stewart's Year of the Cat album-cover-themed.....🤔 (I'm old 🤣)

I can't wait to get this doll. She's unique, her face screening is stunning. I will definitely restyle Ms Catty as her ugly dress leaves a lot to be desired.

@@LilacWolfArt I don't know for sure, but either smyths toys or amazon usually gets the dolls between 3-6 months after they get released in the US so I hope that will be the same for Catty :)

I would try some Barbie pieces that are stretchy & look like they'd fit curvy Barbies. I think I've got a couple pants that would work.

Yes! I'm saving this video, because almost EVERY outfit he's tried can be altered (carefully, with some effort and patience and forethought and planning, LOL) by using two of the same outfit, carefully ripping the seam(s), (back, and/or sides) and adding panels, (using original fabric) or stretch panels (using coordinating fabric) OR mini grommets and laces in the back. 👍 And bling of course! Glue tiny Swarovski crystals (clear, pink, etc....) as accents. I'm so inspired! 🥰

If you have Barbies in your collection…. Specially Curvy Barbies their clothes is a perfect fit for Catty’s new body 😉. But I have to say that Barbie Extra & Fashionistas don’t have the best fashions so 🤷🏻‍♂️. Barbie Extra 14 she has an entire monochromatic Pink look from head to toe, the only thing is that has Barbie written all over it 😅. But you can try different styles 🫶🏻

crazy how much just those little bangs/front tendrils improove her look, like she's a stunning doll but the fashion and hair leaves something to be desired and just that little adjustment shows how much potential she has!

I love catty's face, hair, body, tail, shoes and her accessories. But I just wish the dress was done differently or more outfit choices. 😭 Please Mattel make more catty clothes!

I got mine yesterday 🐈‍⬛ I remember when she was first revealed evvvveryone was hating on her (myself included lol) but when I say I am in loooove With this. Dayum doll I mean in love lol I need 2 more 😍 MH G3 is literally the new Supreme and don't get me wrong I'll always have love for G1 but G3 completely devoured the OG Ghouls 💯🙌🏿😍🔥

I'm excited for this one, the most I might even customize her, you'll just have to wait and see, and I'm almost done with Ghoulia that I customized myself from her 2nd, G3 doll. I’m so excited I was finally able to order her today! As a personal note, and it’s not just you…but we don’t really need to hear about the doll stands in every unboxing video. It’s been 70+ dolls now…we get it they don’t give us stands, please move on? lol Catty Army I love it! I saw the boots painted chrome silver and they looked amazing!

I would try grabbing her thigh with the doll stand, rather than her waist. That's what I did with Draculaura, because it doesn't take many layers for her to be too bulky for the waist grab.

Yay! Can't wait to hear what you think. Catty's a favorite and at first glance I'm thinking, 🥰love Catty, hate the dress. Already thinking how I'll redress her, 13 wishes style or similar....🤔 Follow up observation: I'm feeling like Mattel is borrowing too much from Rainbow High and Shadow High, I think they need to concentrate on building on the MH theme, it's unique and appealing in its own right. Corporations can really kill a franchise if they don't listen to the creative team and the fandom. I feel like kudos, they gave her curves, then bummed me out by putting a frumpy dress on her. The boots rock, keep the boots, then why not a catsuit and drapey top like picture day Spectra? 🤔 Even a little fascinator for her hair?

Yes her fashion is very plain and she deserves so much more! I’m hoping that now that we have her sculpt her future releases can then focus on the fashion a lot more instead!

I think if they make her ears a little taller they won't tangle as much in the hair. Keep the base "bulbous", so the hair will encircle the ears better, just stand up a little higher above the hair. 🤏👍 Yes, I agree on the pinks, 🖐️ I hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it, the upper body is raspberry pink, the waist down is hot pink. Fashion packs, Catty needs fashion packs, or is she getting a Skulltimate Secrets box????

I love some of these styling ideas! It's well worth looking for duplicate outfits to deconstruct and re-tailor to fit queen-sized Catty. 🥰 (Those stretchy pink bell bottoms!!!) And Bella Parker's pink tweed suit! Which I'd maybe dye a darker pink....🤔 OMG

Catty can wear the Disney ily 4ever Ursula doll's tentacle knee boots, gaps in the back to be expected. Low rise RH and SH boots will work and fabric boots probably but I tried some molded knee boots and while she could wear them they ballooned strangely above the ankle. It's going to be an adventure and I hope sewists will have a good time with her and make her some edgy superstar worthy fashion.

Honestly she feels very disappointing, it's like they made the base doll and called it a day on everything else, so many unpainted accessories and a very boring/ugly outfit. Disappointing how it feels like Mattel never commits to giving plus size dolls actual good quality fashion
