When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

Oh also Gore Magala made the Washington Monument go brrr and now we have a transdimensional portal to normal Earth. Why? Because Monster Hunter needed guns. (Neglected bowgun noises)

I love this movie and rewatched it many times for its straight forward story and no nonsense approach to action and coolness. Mila Jovovich and Tony Jaa are an awesome action couple on screen and I love the simple humour shared between them onscreen. An unappreciated movie.

It was a fun and entertaining action movie. Everyone here complaining its not 100% identical to their game playthrough or the movie didn't open their eyes to the secrets of the universe. This is the world we live in.

The movie was terrible. This movie is not for people who’ve never even heard of the game monster hunter. It gives zero to no plot of what’s going on and spoilers it’s mostly just a woman going through a dimensional portal to the world of monster hunter and her just lost 90% of the movie and towards five minutes of the end of the movie there’s a little bit of action. For someone like me who’s actually played the game very disappointed on how they did this movie.

I saw it and its fine if you want a movie you don't really need to pay attention to or you love non-stop monster fighting (seriously I could've taken a 30 minute bathroom break and wouldn't have missed any plot points). There's next to no plot but the effects are fun to watch. Like you I never played the games but my boyfriend has and he enjoyed the monster designs and Easter eggs.

Same, like, the monsters look great but other than that, I can't say much since I'm not a huge Monster Hunter player. I only got a couple of hours with World. I absolutely would love it if it sticks true to the lore (Like that Mortal Kombat movie you directed over 20 years ago, Anderson). But, as it is, it's a watch then forget about it.

Not a bad preview, although I'm quite a bit surprised when I saw tony jaa standing on the head of diablos. Like wtf? He just literally teleported there. This would be awesome if he used that thing in their arm and swung above the head of diablos before landing in it to make it realistic.

Wow! def want to see it! looks amazing. Also seeing the realness of constant "kill shots" and other heroic moves & still have the feel of a movie, which is what it is., is super enjoyable. It's a movie. NOT trying to play the game, just enjoying what it is. Watching Mila run towards the monster? She's a badass already. Mila makes great action movies & otherwise. Just one example, have you seen her in, "A Perfect Getaway"? (2009, badass movie). Be grateful. I'm grateful. This MOVIE was a tremendous production effort with a lot of heart.

Interesting plot twists, interesting thriller, as a gamer since 2009 I quite enjoy it. But really should have stick to the real Monster Hunter. Actually, before this I really dreamed this series to be finally become a good movie someday. Hunting in the nature, the hunters were really the once who hunts not the monsters who hunts for prey, in short, humans co-existed with nature. The humans seek monster for products such as armors and weapons crafted from monsters. The Monster Hunter Stories has a better example of story to tell to be honest. Plus Rathalos is not that big. Diablos don’t hunt sand ships, Jhen Mohran does. 😅

By burrowing just beneath the surface of the sand, the Big Monster demonstrates that he has adapted to his environment. The noonday desert Sun must be "killer", so the BM avoids the HEAT by staying in the "shade" of the sand.
