Funny how a monster I hate so much to fight, is one of my favourites in the MH universe... only Kushala can do that

It is very suspenseful, and the haunting solo oboe (?) at e. g. 2:06 makes it sound like the ancient creature it is.

This is one of my most favorite monsters in Monster Hunter history

If you're going to gun at ALL, you need to be doing a LOT of rolling. Kushala Daora will definitely blow you a way with it's air-shot if you're anywhere remotely directly ahead of it. Make sure you're always to the side somewhere. Bring flashbombs so you can make him drop down from the sky if he starts flying.

Kushala is generally forgotten as a flagship due to lack of release of MH2 internationally. Underated.

@Photanic also, right after his wind blast attack the wind aura is gone for a split second. that's the time to hit his head with weapons like a greatsword of longsword.

i think he's the coolest elder dragon......but my fav monster is Nargee (i likes callin Nargacuga that) because not only is he cool as hell..... but he seems so cuddly too

Kushala is epic! I fought and killed both normal and rusted forms! using Tigrex Howl peirces through the aura and hits hard!

It's not impossible. You just need a really long weapon and REALLY good aim. It is possible to strike his head even with the wind barrier up with a longsword, for instance. It takes practice, but it's possible.

Either use a gun with poison shots and pierce shots or a SnS with poison attribute. Poison stops it's wind effects.

Oh, you must be confused. There are two types of "dragons": Wyverns and true Dragons. Wyverns can be basically anything (Kut-Ku, for instance) that resembles a flying reptile. Dragons are four-legged, hinge-jawed, two-winged reptilian creatures. In the Monster Hunter series, there are four true dragons: Kushala Daora, Chameleos, Fatalis and Rukodiora. The rest are technically not dragons. The more you know.

Man killed him 100+ times...love fighting him. Trying to get get his g rank armor. Isn't chamelos not even a chameleon? He looks like one but isn't one really. N the only thing true dragon about lunastra and teostra is the fact that they breathe fire. We're as every other monster either fires a beam or ball of fire.

@finalfatalfail I agree I'd rather fight Kushala Daora than Rathian or Rathalos. Kushala is a true dragon that is fun and dynamic where as Rathian and Rathalos just spam the same moves over and over again and I find them very boring to fight. Call that MH blasphemy, but I hate fighting those two I wish they would just go one game without them.

I don't know if you know your history, but European and Chinese dragons were both thought up independently, and therefore their origins do not interfere with each other. To me, the European dragons are true dragons.

Try a melee weapon instead and focus on hitting Daora's head. Wait until it shoots the wind blast and attack the head, just a few hits and then dodge, if Daora shoots again hit its head again. Take advantage of Poison Throwing Knives, that's because Daora's vulnerable to Poison, not only it lasts a good amount of time, but it also neutralizes the wind aura. And when it starts hovering, a flash bomb will bring him down, stunning it for a few seconds.

Elder Dragons are unique creatures that are able to live in a variety of landscapes and have a long lifespan. Although named dragons, they don't all necessarily have four legs or wings. Some may be horse-like like the Kirin, or octopus-like like the Yama Tsukami because of their unnecessary fitting into any categories of monsters. I suppose this will help explain the term "Elder Dragon". It didn't refer to only dragons but creatures or monster more.
