I think there's a theme here Tigrex vs Gammoth: The one who is smaller but have mobility and agility? Or the one who is slower but much bigger size to cover the field? Zinogre vs Mizutsune: Who has the better maneuver? Rathalos vs Astalos: Who is more ferocious? Glavenus vs Hunters: Which is(are) the better weapon user? I'm sure this arrangement is on purpose.

If you want to 'kinda' have a Monster Hunter feel you should get Bloodborne. After I realized there's no chance of me getting MH I got Bloodborne. Despite it's challenge it's an amazing game.

The pixelated graphics and jpegs of the original games gave off a sorta familiar feel to it. They may not have had good graphics like mhw but it eventually became just a staple for it. I was confounded the first time I actualyl saw 3d leaves and grass.

The author of Fairy Tail created a Monster Hunter Manga years ago! I don't recommend it since the plot is weak, but If you are a fan of monster hunter it's something definitely you should check out!

weellll, Massive Learning curve, deliberately slower paced fights, and stategic thoughts when attacking is usually what drives away the new people...but if you can get past that, you will enjoy monster hunter, its my favorite game of all time.

I can attest to everything that the other person said. Unlike most games, not much of the fight is spent on attacking and stringing together moves into combos. Most of the time, you're dodging attacks and waiting for an opening. Especially with the heavier weapons like Gunlance, Greatsword, Switch Axe, Longsword, and Hammer, to name a few. Sure, there are a few weapons with faster attacks and more combos, if that's your cup of tea, like Dual Blades, Sword & Shield, Glaive, Lance (sometimes), and Charge Blade. However, if you get overzealous with your attacks, you may not have time to dodge an incoming attack, which could mean certain death late in the game. That being said, though, it's a fun and thrilling game. In my opinion, it's more fun than games where you CAN just keep attacking and overpower the opponent every time. You have to be smarter and more patient in MH to stand a chance, especially when you hunt solo.

Oh, another important part: a lot of attacks have a ton of ending lag to them, but you can roll-cancel them by just pressing the B button. That's a VERY important thing, and I'm not positive that the game ever teaches about it.

On a smaller screen who really cares about res? Graphics mongerers are killing the gaming industry - Look at the most graphically beautiful "Games" out there, like the Order - you can hardely call them games. I'd rather they focused their efforts on making the game fun.

Those graphics would be wonderful on console, but they could do more for it if it were to be released on a console. Hopefully NX will be the place.

The sales for the Wii U version of MH3U tells you everything the Wii U version did not even sell 1,000,000 copies (close tho kinda like Sonic Lost World it was close but didn't get 1m which for the Wii U is what companies need worldwide to be CONSIDERED a success.). The 3DS version however did sell over 1,000,000+ copies also Japanese people prefers handhelds and mobile over console (even the PS4 is faultering compared to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan). Capcom is trying to make money and make Monster Hunter as accessible as possible for newcomers also for Capcom it doesn't cost em much money as they would on a console cus for the Nintendo 3DS the most you're spending ironically is 1,000,000 dollars. (maybe a little more but in terms of dedicated handheld consoles and compared to the PlayStation Vita it is much safer and cheaper to make a game on the 3DS only issue is you are sacrificing quality but it is possible to make good looking games on the Nintendo 3DS/NEW N3DS). Heck MH4U on the Nintendo 3DS is the SECOND best selling Monster Hunter title. (Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on the PlayStation Portable Family of Systems and that was Japan Exclusive). The reasoning sales matter if you're wondering why you should care is if lets say MH never sold well in America it wasn't growing AT ALL... Capcom would never even consider localizing the game and it would become a Japan Exclusive franchise. Simple way of saying all of this: It's better than nothing.
