So, here's what I am getting from this even though I still have to wait a couple hours to play it: Ibushi and Narwa use electromagnetic waves to take control of monsters in a manner similar to telepathy and expand their territory like an army. Kamura has rich resources that would make for an ideal nest, but the villagers are in the way. The Rampage is merely their attempts to drive out the humans for that goal and Magnamalo is simply taking advantage of it to feast. Hinoa and Minoto have the ability to resonate with those waves and become mediums of their thoughts. Otherwise, the waves have no effect on humans, Wyverians, or Magnamalo. Ibushi and Narwa are still alive and are amassing an even deadlier army. The cutscene feels like a cliffhanger to lead into the Master Rank expansion and the final battle against Narwa.

Essentially. Though it is implied that Ibushi and Narwa are a species that produces hundreds of offspring, probably because in nature virtually everything eats their young, and very few reach adulthood. They are likely looking for a place to breed comfortably with low threat level to their offspring. Magnamalo is like nergigante in both that he's only trying to get easy food, and he's...not at all important to plot development. A footnote at best.

@@abgamer784 Amatsu can't control thunder, and wind is more of a side effect of the rain clouds it creates. Its ability to fly, just like its attacks, are primarily based on water. Everything about Amatsu's ability to produce storms is based on water and the formation of rain clouds. Lightning, thunder and wind are all just a consequence of said rain clouds but it can't actually use them as an attack or anything else. Honestly though, even if it could control thunder, I seriously doubt that the devs would introduce an already established Elder Dragon into the story as the love child of two new ones. Storywise it would have to be something new. An offspring of these two would have to be something similar to Alatreon; direct control of multiple elements.

I still find it disturbing that Ibushi, a male elder dragon, is telepathically speaking through a women’s body. That made defeated him more satisfying, so I never have to experience that again.

I'm really excited to see where the story goes next. It left on a pretty interesting cliffhanger. I like how Ibushi and Narwa are basically able to communicate through words. It makes them seem far more like antagonists than other monsters in the franchise.

Its probably going to be its offspring, amastu would be cool being the storm god and all but i dont think it has ever being shown to use lightning in battle so its similar to just the wind god tho i think it would be cool if we get to fight it again we could see both wind and lightning since its the "storm" dragon and all. I dont know if its relevant but pokemon did something similar for the shinto gods of wind and thunder, they also have a third member representing fertility, so maybe it will live underground? and use wind and lightning attacks every now and then, also maybe thats why theres that skeleton in the caverns

I have a very strong feeling that the offspring is going to be the final title update. I think Capcom will keep it secret until the end of Rise and close to the Master Rank/G Rank expansion of Rise.

I'd say it's a distant cousin. It's physiology alone is evidence that, while it *may* share the same ancestor as Ibushi and Narwa, Amatsu is still a separate species altogether. Not the cause or the result of these new elders.

@@thehighwayman3122 Exactly like that. Another example would be Alatreon and Disufiora; similar abilities and anatomy, but too many differences in their physiology to call them subspecies of each other. Also distant cousins sharing the same ancestor.

It's not that bad, I had some black bear breakfast sausage before, pretty good. Then again I prefer game meat over farm raised anyway. Either way it's how your season it that matters.

I'm not sure how I feel about Ibushi and Narwa being able to "speak." I know the games imply that Elder Dragons have human-level sapience, but even then they still behave in an alien, animalistic manner. Having the serpents being able to communicate through telepathy and plotting like anime villains is really jarring.

Well neither of them are actively trying to possess the twins. Their telepathy is actually just a side effect of their actual abilities. But yes, it's implied that all elder dragons are sapient. This is the first occurrence where an elder dragon's perspective is correctly interpreted; and it was entirely by happenstance. Also, I wouldn't call it "villain plotting". Their desires are purely instinctual; tear the land in order to create a nest where their offspring can thrive.

@@crazy13alex I agree Most high level Elder Dragons mostly act out of instinct, with unfortunately catastrophic results. Take Xeno and Safi for example. Both monsters simply wanted to grow and/or propagate by using the bioenergy of other elder dragons (or the Guiding Lands in Safi's case) Despite their Sapience, they still kind of mind their own business. All...except maybe a certain dragon.

In pretty sure in lore they are sometimes considered to be just as smart as humans and black dragons are considered to be even smarter than humans or sometimes even alien life forms but not sure about that part

They were always implied to be sentient creatures, but up until Rise they're hardly ever depicted beyond anything but highly intelligent animals or such as you can see in Shagaru's intro with him deliberately taunting you rather than straight up murders you on sight or Ruiner Nergigante "saving" you from Bazel attack on Guiding Lands intro in Iceborne

Probably story DLC, like Safi, Alatreon, and Fatalis. Major expansion might be announced next year though but until then, just DLC to wrap up this first story. Would be nice to see some Frontier monsters since the Magnamalo uses a Frontier moveset.

Yea, the game hints at the Serpents being capable of some sort of telepathy, so in the final scene they used the Twins as "phones"

In a way yes. Although, I think it's more accurate to say that *neither Elder are actively trying to possess the twins.* Telepathy seems to be a side effect of their actual abilities, and the twins happen to be conduits for them. It's a rare trait among wyvereans to pick up frequencies like the twins can. So when it happens, it's completely circumstantial.

I feel like people are misunderstanding the word "Offspring". I really think its just Ibushi and Narwa their referring to. "Let the storms howl" for Ibushi "And the thunder roar" for Narwa. And the most obvious their eye colors match the color of Ibushi and Narwa.

Sooooo...about those twins. Are they like...”vessels” to the new monsters in this game? Ibushi and Narwa I mean (I might’ve spelled it wrong). Like they seemed to be taken over on rare occasions, especially when they’re nearby. Are the monsters going to possess them to kill the hunter? Or something else? Either way, those 2 seemed more reliable than the one in World and Iceborne (same handler) ^^;

I think it's more the case that the twins are able to hear and speak the thoughts of Ibushi and Narwa via whatever mechanism those two use to trigger the Rampage.

The Highwayman raises a good point. I think it's more accurate to say that *neither Elder are actively trying to possess the twins.* Telepathy seems to be a side effect of their actual abilities, and the twins happen to be conduits for them. It's a rare trait among wyvereans to pick up frequencies like the twins can. So when it happens, it's completely circumstantial.

Nope.. its going to be a lightning monster.. besides monster hunter final bosses are always exclusive monsters so it's definitely not amatsu

@@bradleydrake6941 Its fine. That was one theory in my head was that Rise would essentially be Amatsu's origin story. I just hope that if/when Amatsu gets added in the game, he'll have some element in the story. I was thinking that Amatsu would sense the birth of this new powerful Storm elder dragon and come searching for it, like how Alatreon came looking for Safi in Iceborne. Maybe we aid either Amatsu or, in a cool plot twist, Magnamalo to help kill Narwa and Ibushi's offspring.

Nah I don't blame you, if I have enough time I do playthroughs with both dubs and subs but I always prioritize dubs because a lot of my audience has told me they watch my videos while driving, working out, at work, etc and want to hear it in English easily.

Why are the twin girls posses but a male and female dragon that look like they want to have kids together? I don't think I like the implementation that may come to some people's heads like a incest lesbian relationship between the two I really don't like that implication because 1. I think that is not something that should be in a mh game 2. The internet is odd and makes things wierd and 3. I am tierd of seeing that kind of stuff in games that are for fun...
