Is it viable to aerial combo on Rise now by any chance? Didn't bother with Rise so really curious if it was buff or something.

@@miirico5398 Yes and no. Focusing purely on aerial combat wasn't the best option for the Glaive. But with the aerial attack buff (every jumping advancing slash you hit strengthens further aerial attacks until you land, and it stacks), Diving Wyvern gives you the single strongest attack for Glaive, so if you can somehow land it consistently you can do massive damage.

This Kinsect already was present in MH4U, and it was pretty good (maybe the best)

@@deinonychus1948 On that note, it appears that when you use the “kinsect slash” you also get the corresponding powder buffs (red ,white, orange) depending on where you hit. (Same places as regularly using the kinsect)

I'm confused about something with that new IG aerial attack you're talking about. What if you hit the head with the aerial attack? Do you get red and therefore you cannot get anymore colors with that aerial attack? Also, people keep saying in the comments that "support kinsects could be better now." What does that mean? What are support kinsects? The ones that can poison and paralyze (aka, not the assist ones)?

@@dragomango992 correct, hitting the head would give a red extract, and you will no longer automatically collect additional extracts. I believe "support kinsects" refers to the non-dual-color assist type kinsects that are currently the meta. For instance, you have kinsects that can heal and apply status effects that people currently don't use because the dual-color kinsects are so much more efficient.

@@dragomango992 yeah if you notice in the combo starting around 0:40 , perform two kindest slashes - one on the wing and one on the head. When after they got the red buff from the head, they performed what is called Enhanced Kinsect Spiker where they drilled down on the monster and landed. Check out the monster hunter rise sunbreak website, they have more information for the new moves for all of the weapons shown so far 👍🏼. I’m not sure what support kinsect means, but they could just be referring to the other kinsect types that aren’t the assist kinsect. Like there’s the Ladypavise kinsect that drops heal / poison powder.

Sounds like something out of Witcher 3. Which makes sense since Sunbreak is partially based on Eastern European mythology as well. :3

Rise IG was already an improvement over the travesty that was Iceborne IG.

Rise IG is just a more impractical Iceborne version, with the iconic dragoon-dive move losing all of its utility (the forward movement, marking, and kinsect pierce attack are gone) and being realocated to a cooldown-based purely DPS skill. I wouldn't call that an improvement at all. In IB it was something you could use whenever the right situation arose, sometimes you'd spam it a lot, others not so much, a very nice and practical vanilla move to aid the base moveset. While in Rise it became a cooldown-attack just to add to damage, never for practical reasons, more of a "I must use this as soon as my kinsect cooldowns are full or I'm wasting DPS" kind of thing. Aside from that, none of Rise's new alternative ground attacks were useful, only worse & slower animation-locked gimmicks, the moveset remained the same once 90% of players realised the vanilla attacks were superior, so the only good new thing was the aerial damage scaling with each consecutive attack. A passive DPS boost rather than a new useful attack, not exciting. When it comes to kinsects themselves everyone ended up using the Assist double-extract type to skip out on upkeep time, which is pretty much the equivalent of IB's powered-up kinsect buff (could gather 2 extracts before coming back), and powders in Rise ended up being ignored because this kinsect type uses none in return for extra passive damage on certain moves. A one-step-forward-one-step-back kind of situation. In Rise you gain passive damage buffs to both ground and aerial attacks, but compared to IB you lose the original Dragoon-dive's utility and you lose kinsect powders. At least Sunbreak's new moves alter to the aerial moveset. We'll need to wait and see if the constant extract management is worth it in the end. To use these new attacks you lose all extracts, then regain them in the air if you hit all the right parts before going back down to repeat the process. Vanilla ground attacks may prove to be more practical in the end but I'll remain positive about SB's new aerial gameplay for now

@@yevaud1394 no it's not, Rise IG not only didn't get anything new (that matters), they also locked the strongest move to become a switch skill and lost alot of moves. And trust me, I've been maining IG since when it first came out. Vanilla Rise IG was the worst IG nerf ever, even worst than MHGen IG. And they also kept nerfing Full extract.

Still doesnt look like IG got the love needed. Still looks like all types of aerial stuff will be unprecise and lame, and the also lame but more powerful ground combat stays the same. Shoot kinsect attack, yet another aiming thingy, sure is unprecise/uncomfortable as well in the heat of combat. Still a trash weapon for em nintendo kiddos who wanna senselessly jump around a lot.

@@sanguinetales No, they are demonstrating the Switch Skill Swap along with the new moves. It uses 2 that we know share a slot: Recall Kinsect and Diving Wyvern. Both are on A. This shows the Hunter swapping Recall Kinsect and Awakened Kinsect Attack and then Awakened Kinsect Attack and Diving Wyvern. Obviously the different parts of the video either aren't concurrent (which is more likely since it's a demonstration) or they went to a tent for a hard swap. Either way, this means all 3 Silkbinds are either on A, or you can swap Silkbinds out freely regardless of button (which is how I would have done it personally). In the SnS video they swap Destroyer Oil with Metsu Shoryugeki and that also already has two Silkbinds on one button.

@@Mindflood18 at 0.23 seconds read what it says. they definitely went to swap things around for the different demos. there's no reason to assume that was all one sitting. they are all on A and we will gat more than what was shown as what was shown would only apply to 3 slots

@@sanguinetales I know how the swap works, but it doesn't change the fact that they could unbind Silkbind Attacks from specific buttons. It would have been the better option in the long run as it enables more choice on the player's end, which is the whole point of Switch Skills. I was only putting the hard swap via going to a tent as a possibility. I didn't mean to imply it was at all likely. I also want there to be more, but I'm not about to eliminate things that are legitimately possible. We have 3 Switch Skills in Rise, the videos show us 2 more, totaling 5. The hitch here is we know that with the current system we have Silkbind X and Silkbind A. They could make it Silkbind Slot 1 and Slot 2, and you choose the ones you want without restrictions

Slot 1 - Leaping/Advancing Slot 2 - Tornado Slash/Tetraseal Slot 3 - Diving/Recall/A.K.A Slot 4 - Jumping A.S/Kinsect Slash Slot 5 - ???/Silkbind Vault(currently unchangeable) the Demo tells you at 0:23 it only allows switching between same button skills

It replaces the usual jumping advancing slash. And once you get red you can't bounce anymore. 4 will still be the max amount of jumps there will be.

They are making higher tier bugs. The video shows one with two or three different dust clouds that aren't available right now.
