You guys asked for it, so here it is! More in the "who is" series! Today we're talking about Akantor AND Ukanlos. Who are, or what are these monsters?

Between Akantor and Ukanlos, I've always found Ukanlos more intimidating since its 4 Ultimate appearance. The way it sizes up the hunter and stares into their eyes screams confidence and POWER. Ukanlos has the energy of an insurmountable mountain.

It was akantor for me when i saw him killed gravious i thought he was going to be kind of sloppy but brute strength but when i faught him feels like some one give tigrex personality to turtle.

They were on the original Rise leak which was completely right even mentioning Crimson Glow valstrax. So it might be possible they will be the final Title update, finishing sunbreak with the 2nd gen Final Boss(es) after finishing Iceborne with the 1st gen final Boss

These two are the exact reason why I think Pseudo Wyverns should be it's own category, I get there's lore behind them being called flying wyverns, but they DONT FLY, unless your Barioth

Will never forget that one quest where you had to fight a perma enraged Ukanlos in 4U in order to unlock this Samurai looking armor. Once we finally pulled it off, those hunters who accompanied me were brothers in arms

Akantor is my absolute all time favorite monster. I've been screaming everywhere all the time to add akantor to the new games.I wanna see how they would update the monster and could you imagine how the wirebug changes this fight? I've been pretty disappointed with new added monsters to sunbreak. Variants are cool but, I want more different monsters. Variants can be really fun but, it feels super lazy development on their part. Come on capcom, give me AKANTOR!!!!!

I love Ukanlos and his theme. When he leaps, he's Like a big ice kitty. I named one of my ice raw sets in sunbreak that uses Goss Harag's stuff after him

I remember having so much fun fighting them in Freedom Unite, they’re the reasons I fell in love with using the hammer. Pounding their massive faces with your hammer is very satisfying. haha!

Ukanlos is my fav monster of all time and I just want it to return again. Obviously only with Akantor on its side. These two were always one of my favourite hunts ^^

Ahh, Silver Cataclysm in 4U was so much fun. Fastest triple cart I’ve experienced. The opening beam and quest over in 7 seconds. Good times.

Akantor is one of my favorites I remember fighting him for the first time in 4u and carting countless times until I finally beat him. One of the best monsters in the series

Also....they are classified as a flying wyvern because they use flying wyvern skeleton, just the sub stance pseudowyvern like tigrex narga and barioth Still wondering why capcom not just classified Kirin as a herbivore with thunder element if it's based on characteristics alone. Then again elder dragons are amalgamation of many structures from herbivores, leviathan, fanged wyvern to whatever the f narkarkos and yamatsukami were

If ever capcom decides to show them in newer installments, I hope they'd live up to their name as the black and white god. I'll be expecting a battle as hard as fatalis in iceborne and involves usage of fire and ice elements in each and every type of attacks they make

I also notice that Akantor is actually fully black/dark grey, even though the Ingle Isle makes him look more red/orange it's a similar problem that Alatreon had before Iceborne

I remember in 4U, my nephew and 2 of my friends posting what we thought would be a by the numbers Ukanlos quest as we had successfully completed the quest many times before. Upon dropping down to the area Ukanlos 1-shot defeated ALL of us within the first few seconds as if we weren't wearing armor. Talk about epic fail.

These two were terrifying in a way most monster in the series aren’t, barring White Fatalis. Even if the fights aren’t that hard, the presentation for these two makes it feel like there’s no way a hunter can beat them.

First time fighting Akantor was back in Freedom 2 when it first came out. I was at my friends house trying to beat this guy in full blango armor with a ravager blade+. Terrible idea I know but I was a kid and had no idea how the armor system worked. Still managed to beat it somehow lol.

Akantor is just a big tigrex, just like dire miralis is just a big fatalis, in the older games their moveset is exactly the same.

What I remember from fighting akantor was it taking (I counted) 40 tries. Finally beating it and realizing it’s weapons had the worst sharpness of its rarity.

I unfortunately never got to wield the Akantor Katana, it was just the best Longsword there ever was in MH, just for that I wish they would bring these magnificent beasts back into the game!

There's an underlying reason as to why the Guild fears an Ukanlos and Akantor meeting, and its not the fight. You see, Ukanlos' mere presence causes temperatures to drop for miles around...it's a living cold front. In Freedom Unite, the Hunter had to slay it because it was going to make the already harsh Pokke winter even worse. And I suspect the temperature within a few miles of Akantor is going to rise - maybe not to the same extreme as its icy counterpart, but it would probably be enough to be considered a warm front. And what happens when a cold front meets a warm front? Extreme weather. If the White and Black Gods even got within a few miles of each other, massive thunderstorms, flooding, hailstorms and even tornadoes would ravage everything in the vicinity - and if they actually met and started fighting, the weather would get even worse. And they would probably fight to the death - but since they're completely equal, the weather would persist for a long time...

Akantor and Ukanlos are no Elder Dragons, but from a sheer powerlevel I would say there on the higher end of the Class 2 Elders. I mean for a Ukanlos a Kushala is just a snack.

I loved Akantor's GS, but it was so hard to fit into any builds....would love to see these weapons again now that transmogs are a thing.

I do think Akantor armour and weapons would be rather interesting... as Bludgeoner seems to be non-existent in Sunbreak (it isn't present on ANY armour set) so they could bring it back as an exclusive skill on Akantor armour although the lack of Bludgeoner makes sense as there are ZERO weapons in Master Rank that are below Blue Sharpness by default lol

@@nekrumzero8117 normally yes... but back in base Rise; it could be quite formidable if paired with certain Rajang weapons and the Hi-Ninja Sword as they have high raw and VERY high affinity respectively and green sharpness

One of the reasons why I think world/iceborne isn't finished yet: cause it didn't have akantor and ukanlos, the very two monster ancestors of the wyverns Also crimson and white fatalis isn't there too which makes me think that they should give us an MH world sequel after MH rise

Akantor can easily kill a Gravios and I remember somewhere that it can also kill Teostras so it can fight elders. Elder dragons are more of a catch all category for monsters that have abilities, behaviors or strength that can't be explained in universe. Take Kirin for example, it can be absolutely thrown around by Rajang, a fanged wyvern but is still an elder dragon because of how it can call literal thunder down on hunters.

It's ridiculous that Akantor & Ukanlos aren't classified as Elder Dragons... They're big, powerful, can't fly & don't have wings (not flying wyvern), and can control the elements on the environment (one of the typical Elder Dragons trait)

Elder dragon means "we dont know how this thing works". Its a blanket term for unknown creatures in general, hence the massive diversity in the group. Throwing every cool and strong monster into that bag does nothing but detract from the series as a whole

@@crim1188 That statement was proven from time to time to be only half right. While some of the Elder Dragon does not resemble the form of a *dragon* most of them do, or at least somehow related to dragon-like lore. The underlying main factor of the Elder Dragon category is that they are extremely dangerous and can be consider to be natural disasters. Taking that into consideration as a base factor, it's pretty obvious that Elder Dragon can be separated into 2 categories: *Dragon type* which resembles and has the classic dragon archtypes, such as Fatalis, Alatreon, Lao Shen Lung, Malzeno, Kushala Daora, Dire Miralis, etc And *Non Dragon type* which has the main danger/threat factor of the Elder Dragon but not resembling or has the shape of a dragon, such as Kirin, Yamatsukami, Nakarkos, Ceadeus, etc Now, Akantor & Ukanlos are classified as flying wyvern because their ancestry's anatomy are indeed flying wyvern-like, *BUT* these 2 obviously has evovled enough to the point of we definitely can't say that they are flying wyvern anymore. Like, we don't called chicken dinosaur... Akantor & Ukanlos are, and should be, consider as Dragon Type Elder Dragon based on their appearances. They're also super strong & durable, that in the original MH Freedom Unite we almost certainly cannot beat them with a single hunt. Moreover, they posseses elemental power that directly affected the environment, Akantor with Earthquake and Lava manipulation & Ukanlos with ice glacier manipulation, and should be consider as natural disater of threat level...

The new world is a setting. Bishaten is an old world monster, because he's in the old world. Tobi is a new world monster because he's in tge ancient forests of the new world
