@jgsource552 300 hours is barely scratching the surface in terms of the most fundamental thing about this game. The gameplay. The way a person at 6k hours, it would be alien to someone who is at 300. At 300 the level of awareness, skill, perception, just so many fundamental things about the the fight, the monsters is completely different. At 300 hours, It's like pulling up to a shore and in front of you is a large boulder. That's all you see. At 6k it's like jumping over the Boulder only to notice a large volcano and proceeding to set up camp and live right next to the top of the volcano.

the comment about making the game for both old vets of the series and bringing in new players is so real and is why i still remain excited for every new game despite my favourite one still being an older one (4U) personally all they need to do to make the perfect game every time, is to just upgrade the story side (4U objectively had the best experience). after that i wouldn't mind a more interesting endgame (4U was also my favourite with the roguelike guild quest stuff and apex monsters, but i think im the minority in that for some reason) and thats it. every other aspect of the games are perfect, and im always looking forwards to seeing what new thing they'll bring or what gets changed etc in the new game. i have never not been excited for a new entry and i've never been so disappointed that i didn't enjoy a game. the devs seem to truly have a passion for what they create and a dedicated vision for what they want but still care for and listen to the fans alongside that. i love monster hunter, and i love seeing so many new players fall in love with it too!

But I hope they don't use the awful GUI (for the personal item chest) from Rise, and go back to using a similar GUI to World & improve that GUI system, because that GUI wasn't perfect, but still better than the one in Rise.

Remember: -The people who make Monster Hunter are somewhat separate from the rest of Capcom -The series producer is not only the CEO's son meaning his opinion holds alot of weight in the company, but he also has a very strong idea of what is too far for microtransactions in Monster Hunter. He has drawn the line that paying for items/power goes against everything Monster Hunter is supposed to be and will ruin the cohesion of multiplayer. We already saw the paid layered weapons ruin cohesion in multiplayer which is why they stopped making anymore packs in Rise and will probably not do it again in Wilds

It gave me crapcom ptsd when they’re on their way to becoming chadcom with their back to back banger releases like re7, re8, dmcV, mhw, mhr, mega man 11, street fighter VI, etc. Mh fans better be ready to wear their clown makeup should crapcom mess this up by making a pay to fast travel, one time character creation, mtx, bad performance, denuvo, etc. there’s so much more options for capcom to mess this series up than make it work unfortunately. Especially since capcom’s been loud about this game lately, meaning, just one wrong move by capcom, the fans will be clowned so hard.

lol the biggest barrier to entry for the first game was those controls. thank the gods they changed the controls in 2nd gen. same issue as Assassin's Creed, first game controlled like ass so they changed it. um, they never said open world, they said the locales will have these shifting environments and weather events with 3 ver5sions of the map that change in real time. the first map having either grassy plains, be covered in sand with less resources, and being engulfed in the storm. this means the maps will be huge and dynamic but there will be more than one. my guess is there will be 5 or 6 of them. they also never said cross play yet. i hope it's cross play but we'll have to see on Summer Games Fest if they reveal that. they asked us in that Survey that was very ill timed and not properly communicated, so people thoght the results would influence Sunbreak. who knows? it may have influenced Wilds but we'll have to see. World influenced Rise mid development. it's why Rise had to redo some of the maps they had finished because they saw the success of World and wanted to try maps without loading screens between zones on the switch. yeah, Rise was originally going to have loading between zones.

Ok the part about an engaging story at 5:40 is so unbelievably cap though. MHW does not have memorable characters or engaging stories, to the point where in iceborne people celebrated the handler you have being replaced for a little while because she was so obnoxious to listen to. Not one part of the game was story driven and that's fine. In fact it was annoying to have to go over and talk to the story quest at all.

There was a story serviceable to the game's primary focus; getting you to go kill big awesome monsters for parts. Was it a good story? Nah, but it did the job. Hopeful they'll do a little bit better this time around with some worldbuilding.
