Monster Hunting in an URBAN Canal!!

Жыл бұрын#muskyfishing from shore is not easy!! This week I have finally decided to give it a good go at it, in my favorite #musky spot!!
As I arrive to the spot it was starting to rain, so I decided to just fish for whatever we can catch, starting with a #bass set up. While on my second cast, I spot a #sturgeon swimming in, so decided to see my luck...
After catching that first small #rivermonsters , I decided to cast for muskies using a big custom swimbait and a Depth Raider!! Did countless casts and had to avoid the huge rain couple of times...at the end being fully drenched I told myself one last cast...as I crank back almost to shore I thought I was snagged for a split second before it started swimming away!! There it is, a beat up 43'' musky, my first open water musky of this year, and I am super happy to hold it!!

Amazing job, hooking and netting from shore. Great releases also. So glad the persistence was rewarded. 43" hell yeah!

That was a lot of spray paint cans used at that spot at 2:00. Both the sturgeon and the beat up musky were pretty darn epic. Nice job, Henry.

That sturgeon was awesome, way to get him up on your own with a successful release! Nice job with that 43” musky. Pretty cool to be able to fish with easy access for those type of fish! Nice video, Henry!!

Fantastic outing my friend. Good job netting that sturgeon on your own, that was quite the job! Very nice musky, it went to war!! Funny seeing that Tench come in to say Hello, lol.

Thank you my friend! Haha it was definitely a bigger struggle than i thought it would have been! Yah that musky probably went to war with other bigger ones around there! That tench thought it was a good idea to come up close, face to face, to probably laugh at it for being caught lol

Holy smokes Henry - you caught two fish of a lifetime in one outing! EPIC!👊💥🎣 It’s amazing what those urban canals are holding. It didn’t even look that deep or that there was even current moving thru, which is something that seems to hold both sturgeon and muskie here. Loved the intro giving the setting. I always struggle with my net too, having T-Rex arms and all lol! Great video!👏

Thank you Joe for the kind words! 👊😎🎣 Yah is crazy what lives in these urban canals, however they are super pressured since everyone will cast at them! The middle of the canal has a big current maybe they sometimes like to come out to chill and stalk their prey! Lol man the struggle is real when it comes to netting especially high up like that!!

Thank you Tom! They dont call it the fish of 10000 casts for nothing, it can be tough sometimes, but come up north somedays and give it a go!! Yah last cast sometimes is what gets the job done!

Woooah! Awesome catches in such a unique but accessible spot! Curious about the graffiti on the wall at around the 3:45 mark? Does that canal dry out or are those folks hanging over the edge?

Thank you Marc!! Very unique spot that is super pressured since everyone cast on them! The canal does dry out on certain years but i think they hung from the edge!
