I have never hated a ride more than this in my entire life. Like the furniture in the water is scary and the weird dark monster area would literally make me cry.

@@redzrobinz3135 its a weird feeling, most likely a phobia of some sort. I assume seeing human objects in the unintended environment makes them feel uneasy.

God I loved this ride as a kid. I moved out of country and i get tears in my eyes remembering how excited I was to go on this ride over and over again. I hope today's kids still get to enjoy it like I did, it is so timeless and unique to Georgia. 🥲

I remember riding this one time and I didn’t even watch the ride. I spent the whole ride with my head shoved inside my dad’s t-shirt sleeve. Heard of the haunted mansion at Disney world from Disney sing along songs, didn’t want it to be the same thing 😂

I used to be scared of this ride when I was a kid and it was called "The Okefenokee Swamp !" When it became the "Monster Plantation," it became a bit cheesy. It still had the iconic "drop" at the end of the ride like Okefenokee Swamp did. But, now, I didn't notice that drop. Also, it looks to be a bit longer nowadays than it was just a few years ago after it became known as "Monster Plantation." It also seems to be a bit brighter at the beginning of the ride, and, a bit cleaner. Still I would like to have the original "Okefenokee Swamp" ride back. 😉

When I was younger, I rode no rollercoaster. The only ride I rode was this one and a few others. I actually loved this rollercoaster. We would always ride it.

You can tell where the ride is quite run down. Many mechanics aren't working as well, you can't see your photo on the wall in the beginning, and half the scary creatures in the marsh aren't illuminated. It's a shame really.

If anybody remembers the six flags over Georgia boat ride called monster plantation or monster Mansion? If anybody has told you that they tore it down? .... It's not true! ... The monster Mason boat ride is still there and in operation! My family and I were there today at six flags and we passed by the entrance to monster Mansion in they still have the ride and operation!

It was renovated in 2009 and renamed. It originally named Monster Plantation

Young kiddos are easily unnerved by them due to the "uncanny valley" effect, a phenomenon in which a manmade object (such as a puppet, sculpture, or animatronic) is designed with the intent of assuming the appearance of a living being, but is limited by elements such as bizarre facial proportions or stiff/jerky movements which make it come off as creepy. In other words, things that are _almost_ human but not quite are known to confuse the human brain, especially those that are still in development and very malleable. However, a grown adult should not be unnerved by animated fluffy monsters at a theme park by any means. There is nothing even vaguely "disturbing" about Monster Mansion's animated figures, and I'm positive most people making remarks on the ride's supposed creepiness aren't genuinely afraid of it.
