Monster is the newest Bolliger & Mabillard inverted roller coaster. Located at Grona Lund, it's truly impressive this ride was even built. Due to space limitations, the station was built underground and the layout winds above buildings and pathways. This video discusses the unique construction process for this ride and how the odd setting enhances the ride experience.

There's something so magical about this ride when riding it at night. It's a perfect example of a coaster not needing to be really intense to be incredible

I love when parks have to stack their rides. I prefer this kind of integration with the area. I also love when B&M has to think out of the box. Outside of pipeline I feel like they mostly play safe with the designs and let other manufacturers take the risk first^^ The supports structures are amazing. Really industrial looking and a creative way to save space. The tiny helix looks amazing offride as well as the slow corkscrew and the rest of the ride. I could watch it all day. Yeah I really need to make some smaller tours across the other countries of europe, I wanna ride this.

13:20 Great engineering on that large central column support. They put the horizontal members ALL the way through the central column. They cut holes on both sides, and ran it all the way through and welded both ends. And the diagonal member bolts onto the flange. Instead of just welding it onto the central column. I bet that makes it a lot stronger.

Man, I hope some day B&M iterates on inverted coasters similar to how they did with stand ups. I love inverts and would love to see some more new ones in the US. Maybe they could combine inverts with the axis coaster, with the track being the axis point or something.

If what you say is true about this park getting an expansion, I hope it includes a new set of bumper cars because their always a fun attraction to have. What exactly was it removed for? Was that where the station entrance went or was it for supports, or something else?

Why do you think Monster at Gröna Lund uses the classic B&M over the shoulder restraints if the ride opened in 2021 and Banshee, which opened in 2014 at Kings Island, used vest restraints instead of the usual over the shoulder restraints?

Anyone know how the maintenance works on this ride? I couldn't identify the location of a maintenance bay when I rode it (and its pretty dark), but they must have transfer track somewhere.
@ikaunieksplay
@ikaunieksplay 10 ай бұрын
From what I gathered on my rides, the transfer track is right before you enter the station on the right, where you get stopped if they are doing 2 train operations
@karlsturm9698
@karlsturm9698 10 ай бұрын
@@ikaunieksplay I was just confused in that there are supports and diagonal bracing on the right side of that location, same as the left. I suppose those could constitute a cage of sorts, and the whole cage slides to the right, vertical supports, track, floor, and all. It's just not the way the outdoor invert transfer tracks are designed.

While it’s not a bad ride it is a bit on the weak side on of forces making it not a good invert but it is still decent but it just doesn’t feel the same as the other invert like Montu or alpengeist or even the Batman clones like the one at over Georgia or even raptor at cp it doesn’t feel as forceful as good ones like nemesis, Montu, alpengeist, Batman clones or raptor
