I'm not lying or exaggerating when I say this is my new favorite fruit. The problem is I've never seen it for sale and so you have to grow your own.

I live in tropical Queensland Australia and have grown up with these fruits, we also call them fruit salad plants because they taste a bit like fruit salad … but we have two different varieties of this plant, one that produces fruit, and the other one does not produce any fruit at all and is just an ornamental plant, our plant produces fruit all year round and is not seasonal… you can just cut off some of the stem to grow another plant, you don’t need any roots you can grow it from cutting, we cut the top off the main plant stem and trim off some of the leaves and cut it into 12 - 14 inch lengths and stick the cuttings into the ground and each piece will grow. I am happy you are enjoying the fruit.

Thanks, I grow these in several locations in my garden BUT all 4 are either under large liquid ambers or large bamboo, so not sure your right re water. Mine fruit readily without any additional water, however they are tropical plants so I guess extra water won't hurt. The fruit ARE delicious. After you remove the outer skin from all the ripe sections use a sharp knife or even a fork and place all flesh in a small bowl and then mash it to a pulp. Don't worry about the little black bits just mash it, add some ice cream or better still fresh cream and you have a yummy nutrition packed health food. I grow mine on the Central Coast of NSW and they are healthy as can be, just got to beat the possums to them.
