i was 13 when i shacked up rogue - adventure time and stumbled upon a monstercat at that time in Russia, few people knew about this label. I can't even believe it's been 10 years already, now I'm 23, and I still listen to these tracks and remember the days of minecraft with nostalgia

Sort of? Everytime I listen to the dubstep they used to upload I am about to cry ... because I cannot find anything as good as that uploaded 2014+ ... Everybody has a different taste and I am not judging, but in my oppinion nowadays EDM is 95% pure bullshit.

If you're still looking for something I'd check out 2010-2013 SuicideSheep for dubstep, try Seven Lions and MitiS. I think in general those years were pretty good for dubstep

Happy 10 year anniversary to Best of Monstercat 2012! IMO the greatest Best of the year Monstercat Album! God the amount of pure nostalgia in this is incredible! It is a shame so many good 2012 tracks did not make it in this compilation! IDEEKAY, Trance Chords, some of the Dubstep tracks from Tut Tut Child, and really shocking that Disconnected did not make it here! Other than that it is still a good mix! 2012 will forever be my favorite year for EDM! PS: Shame they had to remove House by OVERWERK but Ampersand is good too! Will always remember when House was here before OVERWERK went independent!

Ben R I did not realize that. By stating that I enjoy listening to a good EDM mix while playing competitive games to help me focus, I have somehow affronted your definition of what is cool. Did it occur to you that PVP is a term used in many games, not just Minecraft? Did it also cross your mind that just because I have a channel dedicated to Minecraft, it doesnt mean that is the sole game I play? Ive been gaming for over 20 years. I enjoy this mix, I assume since you are here you also enjoy it. So instead of being negative and rude just realize someone here is simply expressing their enjoyment of something you also enjoy. I was 11 listening to this, now im 22. Not only was 007 the best album to come out from monstercat, but 2012 brought us the best bangers out of Monstercat overall aswell. Bring me back to simpler times playing Minecraft and Black Ops II. Edit: Typo

I showed my friend this, and told her this was my homework music.. She was like "You listen to THIS..doing homework? Doesn't it hurt your ears and can't you not focus?" I just stared at her blankly and said, "Hun, this makes me focus better. You need to get a taste in music." Then I walked off. A couple of months later we were both dubstep lovin-fools. 2012 monstercat hits different. Its such a different style compared to nowadays. And the funny thing is that most of the artists on this mix are still producing for monstercat.

Seeing as how it took two months after the years end to compile and upload the almost 2 hour long list of tracks out of all the songs for 2012, we shouldn't expect them to bring the 2013 mix so soon.

GangstaSprinklez It took so long because it took a while for the votes to be compiled and evaluated, followed by the mixing.

GangstaSprinklez Well they did have to get all of the releases of 2013 out, then they had to have the community vote on which tracks were the best. So of course it can't be released immediately, they also had to wait to give the entire community a chance to vote. Then after the voting closed, they had to compile all of the tracks in to one big mix. I personally believe they did it very quickly.
