Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I truly envy the variety of upland game and the freedoms that you have in the USA. Here in South Australia we only have our wonderful Stubble quail, nonetheless, a great bird for bird dogs , extremely fast and second to none on the plate. Our quail are nomadic by nature, moving with rainfall events; they can be totally absent or in thousands. We have the worst possible Minister for the Environment, he is anti hunting and has closed ( the legal) open season for 2 years straight, even when the department has recommended an open season. There is no public land that hunting is allowed on, thankfully permissions are relatively easy to get when you go about it in the right manner. Cheerio, Bob.

In the meantime, I’ll enjoy watching your videos. You’ve got nice dogs. My cockers are a huge hit with the hunters I go with.

I am new to upland hunting, but we have hunted a few preserves here in Texas. I would love to see a video on your truck set up. Hi Eric, always great watching your videos. Excellent dog work and great shooting. I’m curious, hunting alone, have you trained your dogs to release (flush the bird) on command? I don’t think I’ve seen you do that. Seems that would be beneficial when alone? I’m expecting a new setter pup this spring and am planning to train that.
