Today we put a medal around the neck of Jake Hayes, who came 2nd in the full Montane Summer Spine Race. Earlier in the day we'd also received the 2nd and 3rd women in the Montane Summer Spine Challenger North, Fern Parker and Lucy Pringle.
But elsewhere on the course runners are having to dig deep, find pleasure in the little things, and hold onto their reasons for doing this as the daily grind begins to wear them down.
