The only controversy mentioned by journalists at the time had to do with the extra holes cut in the front bumpers of the Lancias. That modification was already in production at the Lancias factory, but not approved until immediately before the Monte. The teams did not have time to convert the cars and the organizers allowed them to cut the holes to the match the new type intakes.

lancia cheat with the delta, air restrictor bigger and modyfied intercooler... today we know it...lol

Ron G. No bigger air restrictor. Simply the unique car/team that was good in every aspect. The medium level is not that high in those years...

@Retro Lover FIA checked air restrictor in everu rally. And from 1992 Delta wasn't event the most powerful.

@@questaebenzinah2600 yes, i have evidence of this, there is a show from all the old ppl of rallying with the team chefs etc, and fiorio admitted they cheated there and the fia was too afraid to do anything cause of the ongoing law suits cause of canceling group b and group s and lancia threatend to pull out of rallying and the fia didnt want to lose more teams cause rallying was already on a downthriving act.
