The theory of Montessori is no doubtly great and works with children. However, they are many schools in America that so call Montessori school with no Montessori foundation at all.

My granddaughter goes to Montessori & it has been wonderful for her.

@davidjuliowang, I totally agree all students should have access to this type of education. I'd like to see more public schools adopt Montessori principles. With Montessori, you don't have to incentive the children to do their work with a pizza party!

@RaymanXTREME I know this isn't a timely response, but the main difference is that the public schools are standardized... this is based on a model that was adopted during the industrial revolution - which is also when the institution of public education was established. The sad thing is that this model is failing in the modern era... our students have evolved and the system has not.
