These two men were perfect together. It was very sad, and extremely unfortunate that Troy Gentry had to pass over at such a young age. I know how much this had to impact Troy's family. I am positive that Troy Gentry was a very special person. As a totally disabled veteran, I just wanted to say thank you for the unwavering support of our United States Military.

I really don't know about y'all, but when l listen to this song, it takes me back to a small town in rural PA. Where I was raised and learned about God, country, and mother. I remember Great Uncle Rip and his tenacious behavior. Man, that guy was not scared of anything. I guess when you drive a tank in Europe in WW11, it does change you. I also remember my grandparents and the strict upbringing I received from them. They didn't have much, but I sure will say one thing that house of theirs was a full abundance of love. I also remember the other relations in my family that had a deep impact on me. God, I miss them days and sure wished I had them back again. They say that your past relatives who have passed on their spirits will drop in from time to time to see how you are doing. You know what, I firmly believe that.

This song came out just as I was finishing my dream of a 'cross-country bicycle ride in 2002. I passed through so many small towns with genuinely friendly people, who would invite you to have a meal in their home, camp on their back lawn, or help you if you broke down on the road. This song reminds me of those places. It's not called the "heartland" for nothing.
@KeepPrayingCA5 ай бұрын
So cool you got to have that experience. Hat off to you for taking the leap and making it happen. I always had that dream to one day do something like that but feel that time has passed. Sadly all those places are disappearing and the country is a much more dangerous place. Hearing country music makes my heart hurt and yearn for those simpler wholesome days. If you don’t mind me asking where did you start/finish and what states did you ride through? I watched a documentary 5 or 6 years ago of a competition where bikers(bicyclists) raced across the country to see who could end up at the end which I believe was in Virginia? I think it started in Washington? Or Oregon? But it was badass and fun to watch. Each competitor was a character and had their own story. Especially the woman that was trapped in a cult for her entire childhood once out not knowing how to interact with other humans in society (felt like I could relate) she started biking, riding her bike everywhere I think she was from Italy? But she rode on every continent (I believe). A few years back I was curious to find out whatever happened to her and learned that her husband passed I think while rafting down a river in a South American country? If I remember correctly he disappeared where there were alligators ahh I can’t remember. I think I was watching a random crazy KZfaq and found out that she was his wife. Small world well ya know ironic same lady I watched years ago. It’s unfortunate she has had to experience so much trauma I. Her life but at the same time I bet she has lived a lot of life in between. I can’t remember the name of the movie (race. Maybe “Driven”?))now but just that it was awesome and inspiring. Inspired me to get a road bike and ride. My goal was to ride everyday no matter what, rain or shine, 2 in the morning, wind, on no sleep. Whatever I do remember this one time on my way back and my stupid battery in my headlight went out! That was scary. Still had couple miles to go along the highways where there were zero streetlights. But I’ll never forget those times. I was and still am I guess a shy person and it helped me become stronger and view my self as a badass. Amazing how physical action Now you have to worry about some criminal mowing you down for fun.
@jeff57215 ай бұрын
@@KeepPrayingCA Hi. Thanks for the response. Me and two ride partners started in Boston and ended in WA north of Seattle, riding through the northern border states. After they went home I continued my ride down the Oregon coast for a ways. I thought maybe I'd try it again someday, but life has gotten way more complicated since then. I'm just grateful I had the chance and that it all went OK.

I feel this song on epic levels. But in the Bible belt, we are southern and we welcome everyone to accept Jesus Christ.
