In this video I give you a breakdown of my earnings and how much I spend on a monthly basis as a 25 year old working in London.

Bank of Mum and Dad then, Anywhere else your rent would be 500+ extra a month, right. Go give them a big hug 😊

Yeah definitely helps. But wouldn’t be any worse off expenses wise moving to London, selling my car and just renting a room out there really. Just personal preference to stay at home at the minute

It would be worse. You would share a flat with strangers. Council tax and bills go up. Your rent goes up. Everytime you move area a new gym membership costs you more. Everytime you move you need to spend £500 for cleaning and moving costs. At home food and restaurants are cheaper and there’s less stuff to do so you end up spending less and being more active in nature.

@@samuilplamenov4749 Yh rent is just the beginning. Its groceries, beers, gym membership, transport (if you have a car - horrendously so), etc. It'd be £800 just rent absolute minimum for a shared flat, unless you live in croydon in which case the commute is practically the same. He's 25 and clearly working hard and don't blame him for taking advantage of his background, but people like this seem very blind to the extent of their privilege. I can already see the future video coming "how i bought a house in London before I was 30", *spoiler* I saved £700 a month on expenses by living at my parents cushty house on the edge of town.

Living at home is probably the only realistic prospect for young people to build wealth today, rent's are high all over the country now.

Very insightful and I would love to see your channel progress. Im looking to start a finance channel myself. Im curious if you went to uni or not?
@lewisgarland3337Ай бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! Yes I went to uni - things like uni and pension I didn’t include in the breakdown purely as I don’t have much say in them going out haha!

Why not find someone renting out an extra room in London???????? Hotels and eating out ALL THE TIME is e-x-pensive per month! And maybe you can write it off as an expense on your taxes against your income, since it's needed in order for you to make a living - talk to an accountant......
@lewisgarland3337Ай бұрын
Yeah it would work out about the same really - hotel and travel for me is around £800 a month which is the same as a room in London without bills. Just preference to stay at home at the moment haha. Sadly as I am a PAYE earner I wouldn’t be able to write it off - would be very nice if I could!
