A State Department panel urged the Biden administration in December to disqualify multiple Israeli military and police units from receiving U.S. aid over serious human rights abuses, including rape and torture. According to ProPublica, Secretary of State Blinken received the recommendation in December but has still not taken any action. Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Netanyahu and his chief rival who is widely expected to succeed him in office, Benny Gantz, have been "publicly and fiercely lobbying against any proposed sanctions," says ProPublica reporter Brett Murphy. "Gantz said he called Blinken personally and they talked about it. They want him to reverse course."

In this case, it is clearly illegal under US law to be giving arms to Israel, especially in light of the ICJ rulings, and the fact that Israel has been stealing land/homes, killing Palestinians and protestors (of all stripes) and committing systemic rapes for 75 years, ever since the Nakba.

The United States should end military aid to Israel. 1. Military Aid to Israel is unnecessary. Israel is a very prosperous country and more than capable of paying for its own military. 2.Military aid to Israel is a security risk to the United States. Israel has been selling American developed military technology to China for more than a decade. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of China's military. 3.Military aid to Israel is a diplomatic liability, 4, Military aid to Israel is illegal under American law. Israel's human rights violations disqualifies Israel from receiving military aid under the Leahy law and Israel's refusal to allow inspections of its nuclear sites or sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty makes any aid to Israel illegal under the Symington Amendment.

Not only does israel get to provide this foreign aid to any unit it pleases, but israel is the ONLY country that recieves military aid from the US that is allowed to spend a quarter of that aid on its domestic defense industry. 1928, U.S. War Department Training manual of citizenship, page 92, "Democracy is the "direct" rule of the people and has been repeatedly tried WITHOUT SUCCESS. Our Constitutional fathers, familiar with the strength and weakness of both autocracy and democracy, with fixed principles definitely in mind, defined a representative republican form of government. They "made a very marked distinction between a republic and a democracy * * * and said repeatedly and emphatically that they had founded a republic."

Question for Democracy Now!: Where in the constitution or founding documents that it states that this country is a Democracy? I can read: REPUBLIC. The U.S. War Department 1928 Training manual of citizenship states on page 7 states, "...being given to the fact that the United States is a Republic, NOT A DEMOCRACY." Page 88, "(7) The Government of the United States is not a democracy but a Republic." Page 91, "Democracy: A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of "direct" expression. Results, in mobocracy. Attitude toward property is communistic - negating property rights. Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences. Results in demagogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy.
