Makinen dominates the first two Rallies, although in the third, the Safari he also could've challenge Colin McRae for the win, but an exclusion forced him out with no points...

@@MontyMotorsport thank u... please more of this season, plus 97, 98, 00 and 01 if u have?.. this eurosport coverage is exelent and way deeper than BBC grandstand's equivilent.. I actually used to tape these myself but they're now long gone. 99 was an amazing season. I lost interest in wrc in 2003 when they changed the points system and gave points to whole top 10 or 8 instead of just top 6 to entice the likes of skoda and Hyundai to stay as they used to struggle to make the top 10 and were constantly off the pace.. seat, skoda and Hyundai back then were all but useless additons to wrc. I know loeb, solberg and Hirvonen are good but 2003 to present day has just got worse and worse.. the cars all look and sound the same now... and it's so boring with loeb winning everything and now ogier.. I dunno why they're so hard to beat. Incredibly the title ain't been won buy a finn since 02(gronholm)... I'm sick of the name sebastian.. cheers m8. And sorry for the monolouge.. it just annoys me the way this sport and btcc got heavily watered down since the 90s.. feels like it's gone backwards and was way better 20 years ago..... where are all the flying finns????🇫🇮 except for ott tannak it's literally been loeb or ogier winning titles since 04 and not even worth watching anymore

Crappy attitude by reporter that "a rental car can be dropped off in whatever condition you bring it back in." UNACCEPTABLE - crappy irresponsible attitude!!
