Pops here. Have considered a potato rack to us to move dirt instead of a shovel. You could also fashion a one thine rack similar to a hay hook. You're have less. Accidental breakage.

Have considered and even tried different digging tools and methods suggested but I prefer to he shovel. I dig methodically and really I have not broken anything in a very long time now that I know how to feel with the shovel. Takes years of experience but Digger Dave and Pontil Paul do it even more extensively then I do and I’ve not seen them break a one. Rakes tend to catch lips and damage them more than my shovel imo but I do appreciate the suggestion though.

Iroquois China Company was founded in 1905 in Solvay, New York, located on the western border of Syracuse near the southern shores of Onondaga Lake. It operated in Syracuse until closing. Although some references indicate that the company closed in 1969, certain designs (e.g., "Informal", "Museum White") were advertised and sold until the early-mid 1970s. Seibel also designed a line called Impromptu. The first designs were Bridal White, Frolic, Vision, Jardinieres, Pins and Beads, Were Current in 1956, New Geometric Patterns like, Parasols and Pyramids. Other abstract patterns included Aztec, Fjord, Tiara, Pompon, Tiara, Pompon Garland and El Camino. Later other patterns such as were added: Grapes, Pyramids, Beige Rose'.[ Iroquois China was initially manufactured for the finest of restaurant dinnerware. So this would be a small soup cup. Looking at the Wikipedia marks, you have one of the earliest of the unshown Iroquois maker's marks - and should make contact with the site and update them with this undocumented earliest maker's mark.

Travis Glass Co., Clarksburg, West Virginia (1908-1920) Travis Glass Co., Weston, West Virginia (ca. 1916-1920) Travis Glass Co., Cedar Grove, West Virginia (ca. 1917-1920) Inverted triangle with T makers mark (1908-1919) H.E. Travis teamed up with Francis E. Baldwin forming the Baldwin-Travis Glass Co., the first company securing an exclusive contract using the Owens Automatic Bottle Machine. Travis was described as “a practical glass manufacturer, who had been superintendent at the Fidelity Glass Company in 1903 and who later established his own plant and made milk bottles by hand process.” In 1904, Baldwin-Travis merged into the Thatcher Mfg. Co. At some point, Travis left the company in 1908. Travis was quite successful, until Thatcher acquired the business (and 4 other milk bottle manufacturers in January 1920. Travis was also a competitor in the milk bottle production with all of the minority producers of milk bottles vs the Goliath of Thatcher Mfg Co with Owens milk bottle machines (50+% of all American milk bottle production). Thus Travis milk bottles are highly collectibles alongside all of the other minority producers. H.E. Travis, R.A. Travis, L.M. Travis, C.E. Lamberd, and W.B. Cornwell incorporated the Travis Glass Co. at Clarksburg, West Virginia April 1908. The plant intended to make “milk, catsup, mustard, vaseline and other bottles.” A newspaper article mentioned that Travis had the factory operating 5 machines and employed “no lungblowers” - men who blew glass my mouth in 1908. Travis advertised “New Ideal” nursing bottles. The firm allowed Walter D. Morrison to test his new MORRISON (another bottle machine !) fully automatic bottle machine at their factory in 1911 - although Travis made no promise to purchase one or more of them - and apparently did not. In September 23, 1913, Travis took over the old Bastow plant at Weston, West Virginia. In November 17 that the plant had “installed another of their own machines. This is the second machine they have in operation, one on quart milks and the other on pints. By March 17 1914, the Weston unit was using 3 O’NEILL machines making quart milks. In 1917 The Cedar Grove plant was constructed. In October 1918, the Clarksburg plant installed a HARTFORD-EMPIRE machine (another bottle machine) that was producing quart bottles. Weston operated a single Hartford machine. January 11, 1919, Travis was the “exclusive makers of milk (and creamer) bottles used by the Borden Milk Co.” The company was planning an extensive addition to its plant at Glasgow, near Cedar Grove. The factory was installing automatic flow machines (fully automatic machines) replacing the old-style gathering machines which required skilled workers. Travis advertised until at least September 27, 1919, but there was no ad in the same space by January 17, 1920. On September 2, 1919, the Thatcher Mfg. Co. announced the acquisition of the Travis Glass Co. and 3 other milk bottle manufacturers. Thatcher had begun acquiring as much of the competition as possible. At least part of the motivation for the takeovers was the acquisition of contracts for the Hartford feeders. Thus, even Thatcher, amongst all others using original Owens milk bottle machines, also transferred away from Owens into the O'NEILLS and HARTFORD milk bottle machines.

The Warwick China Co. produced china (1887 - 1951). Formed by local businessmen J. R. McCortney, O. C. Dewey, C.J. Rawlings, Albert F. Stifel and A.J. Cecil, the company came into being to fill the needs of a growing middle class with affordable chinaware. The first president was J. R. McCourtney, who served until June 1889, when he was succeeded by O. C. Dewey. Following the appointment of Thomas Carr as president and general manager in 1892, the output of the company increased nearly 100 percent, and the number of employees grew from 120 to 260. Charles (C. E.) Jackson, who had introduced Vitrified Translucent China (1911-1935) to the Warwick line, took over as president in 1911. Carr left Warwick China in 1916 to start his own business - the Carr Pottery Company in Grafton, WV. George Bowers became the president of the company in 1934 , introducing the Santone China line, the last of the company's productions. S. H. Hubbard ran the company from 1944-1947 until the company was bought by Harry Bloomberg & Associates in a merger with Sebring China Company to form the Warwick China Corporation. Edward Kren served at the General Manager of the Corporation until the business closed in 1951, drawing the last kiln on October 29, 1951. Warwick China was noted for the Ioga line (produced between 1893 and 1911) and specialized in brown glazed pieces with portraits of Indians, monks, and fraternal emblems, as well as flow blue china and delft patterns. The company made vases, dinnerware, teapots, coffeepots, pitchers, bowls, and jardinieres, using decals or hand painting skills of their many artists to decorate their wares. The Warwick China Co. factory was located in Center Wheeling at 2140 Water Street, corner of Alley 18. Following declining sales, in November 1951, the factory on Water Street was sold to the Marx Toy Company of New York for $250,000. The property was used as a warehouse by Marx Toys. All the equipment was dismantled and the company records were burned (!). (Azzholes should have boxed all that up and given to the local Wheeling Historical Society for archived records and historical research happening - NOW !).

Great find for the staggered Ball Perfect Mason, made in the Muncie, Indiana area from one of the said Ball-acquired prior fruit jar making plants of the area, nearby the Ball plant at Muncie. Vid 35:00 possibly shows a prior Boyd Perfect Mason jar embossing, with the Ball triple L mark (1910-1925) which was this plant using an Owens first generation machine, producing the large shear O with glass skirting. The 10 is most-likely (19)10, not a mold number off to the side, and this would be a cross-over mold from the old acquired plant to be run as a Ball fruit jar glass plant. The Owens first generation machine mark dates (1903-1920). So taking that this is this other plant, with a crossover mold, and this would have been an 1910 mold taken over by Ball and used in that (1910-1925) period. As such, with this information, this is a highly collectible showing crossover, older mold, DATED MOLD YEAR, and the introduction of Ball acquired Owens fruit jar machines - as Ball phased out of their 1890s-1910s Ball fruit jar machines. The very reason why Ball acquired this plant to get into the Owens machine franchise - and converting all their machines to Owens. Eventually, Ball would sell this plant to Owens, while taking out all of the machines (!) and moving them to their other plants (!). This is a HIGHLY rare and scarce collectible fruit jar in its own right - by the very mentions above.

The word ‘Perfect’ was added to the Ball Mason jars at the time that the rights to the "Boyd Perfect Mason" were obtained via the purchase of the Greenfield Fruit Jar and Bottle Co., of Greenfield, Indiana in November 1909. Some molds were modified from Boyd to Ball with ghosting showing. Other fruit jars have the ‘offset’ (or staggered) words ‘Perfect’ and ‘Mason’ on the jars as attributed to the addition of the PERFECT word to an existing pre-1909 "Ball Mason" mold. The Greenfield Fruit Jar and Bottle Co, Greenfield, Indiana was said to have been quickly bought by Ball and then closed. The Greenfield molds would have then (had to have been) moved to other Ball glass group plants - such as the multiple Marion Fruit Jar & Bottle Co Marion Indiana, Fairmount, Indiana, etc. The Marion plant groups were allowed to hold their name while producing fruit jars for the Ball Brothers for a time. Eventually, they would sell off all Indiana plants to the Balls, and move to Coffeyville, Kansas - where again (!) Ball Brothers would buy them out and end the Marion heritage of fruit jars (and bottles). It is the (my contention) that they would have moved these Greenfield Owens machines to the Marion, Indiana and the "F" makers mark Fairmount,, Indiana plant (of which I say) they made bottles as well (i.e. Marion Fruit Jar AND BOTTLE Company) for the Midwest Curtice Brothers having their ketchup plant in that same Fairmount, Greenfield, Marion, and Muncie Ball Bros HQs plants . This is way before Owens changed over from numbered plant makers marks to alphabetic marks ... and the "3" and "F" of the Owens Fairmont WV "F" bottles that have such massive productions. Fairmount Glass Works WV (late 1910s - 1964) with 4 different maker's marks. Curtice Bros would have those companies making their ketchups put on their maker's marks from 1900s onwards. Such ~could be~ these Midwest Marion Fairmount, Indiania "F" marks (1900-1905) - as well as the later Owens "F" Fairmount WV plant. Others have mentioned that such Midwest glass plants could train ride 20 rail cars of 500,000 fruit jars to the New England (and possibly also vice versa). So having a Midwest produced "F" bottle could have been Midwest or WV made.
