The Monza Upgrades Part 3 video is finally here....and we failed miserably. Well it was more of my fail than Bernie's as I'm the one that should make sure that we have all of the parts and tools we need. I thought we had it since I picked up the spacer for the sprocket but you'll see there was something else I missed this time around.
Support the channel and use this Amazon affiliate link to pick up some GT bars of your own! Thanks!

Great video! I used profile bottom bracket and 19mm profile spider/elite chainring/and the same gt cranks as you on my Monza 26, and it worked out really well. I use the Monza on all the dirt trails along the LA river path. It's a killer bike

We just filmed part 4 today and those GT cranks look sweet! Love how they look on the chrome Monza. If I were to race again, this is the bike I'd choose. This thing is quick, nimble, and easy to ride. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

@@cruisinginthe808 Side note question- what’s your take on the 2021 Monster Quad over the newer Fat Quad? The Fat looks to be a bit small for taller guys. Would you choose the 21 Monster verses the Fat after riding both? Thank you for your input!
@cruisinginthe808
@cruisinginthe808 Жыл бұрын
@@shawng8432 - My friend @wheeltok let me ride his Fat Quad and that's a 26". For me personally, I like 29's better just because they give me more room so I love my Monster Quad. It's my most comfortable bike. But when I rode his Fat Quad, I can see why it's a good wheelie bike. You sit up a little closer to the bars so I think it's easier to pull up. I was surprised at how light it was too. He loves that bike and it works for him. I'd still choose my Monster though. I have it pretty dialed in now after playing around with the bars. See if you can ride both of them to see how you like them. Good luck man!

We'll keep that in mind. I've been thinking about changing them so if I do we'll be sure to make a video about it. Yeah, I'm not super familiar with the stock cranks on the Monster Quad. Let me know what tools you need to remove and install new bottom bracket. I just got my 26” Monza and the Manuel in the box is generic. I like Park Tools so if you find out what is needed I would appreciate it. The Manuel states that after 50 miles you have to check for tightness so I will be needing the tools. Thank you.

@@cruisinginthe808 The park tool you guys used in part 3 to remove the sprocket seems like Bernie had to thread it on with force. Is that the correct tool? CCP-22 park tool crank puller? I might be wrong but can't you just knock the crank spindle through the bottom bracket and remove it to allow you to insert your removal tool? I'm fairly sure the spindle has no threads or anything to stop it moving. Let me know if I'm wrong.
@TuesdaysTurn
@TuesdaysTurn Жыл бұрын
It's a square taperd JIS 68mm Euro BB. I don't think you can just knock the spindle through, but I could be wrong depending on make/model. I'm almost positive the drive side is reverse threaded also. So when you install, you install drive side first, counter clockwise to tighten. Non-drive side you tighten clockwise. To remove, you do non-drive side first counter clockwise to loosen, and then drive side clockwise to loosen.
