Here it is, the new Mooer L6 MKII.
I have to admit, I was skeptical. How can a looper priced at $189USD be any good?
In this video I tell you my true feelings about it after opening it up and giving it a crack for the first time.
I opened up the actual unit after the video and the circuitry I have to admit - looks pretty good. Sub mini relays were used for actual true bypass connections, separation between circuit boards and quality switches.
Needless to say - check out the features in the video and how to use this thing and see if this is money well spent.

That is good value. It's practically a looping matrix! You could put different boutique loopers and or effects into those other channels and then control the play order of the loops. Knobs just gave a demonstration of a loop matrix in his recent knobs monthly channel, of course that loop matrix pedal he had probably cost twice as much, it may have had more features too though. But for the rest of us with a budget mindset, I think this would work very well. I was just thinking of the Old Blood Noise signal blender that has the mix output for loop outputs but it only has two send/returns instead of six and cost $130, compared to the 6 of these loop/returns you get with the Mooer.

Ya. this one isn't a matrix unfortunately, but you're right you could use it in combo with other routing gear... Love the old blood noise blender! Great unit as well.

I think the signal blender is better actually allowing you to blend your effects in parallel plus blend in clean signal but that really depends on type of pedals you use. Im just partial to parallel for the clarity it gives when mixing pedals that normally dont stack well

I'm not sure if it's been asked, but can you bypass the unit completely by, say, pressing the active preset switch a second time? I have a hotone patch kommander that only selects any given preset of four, but in case you want to bypass all efects you need to have a set preset without any active loop, which is one less preset to rely on.

that's actually a very good question. Im not too sure - it's been a while since I made this video and there may have been some software updates since I put this out. I think you may have to do the preset approach like you suggested

Is it similar to a boss ms3? I need a pedal controller to send receive MIDI signal to my bluguitar Amp1. Some people use the Ms3, don't know if it's similar to this one in this matter

How many press is need to move from one preset to another? i.e. one press - press another foot switch and the unit will switch to that immediately? or two press - press the existing preset foot switch to disengage it, then press another foot switch to engage another preset? (from another video, I found out that user need to press twice to switch to another preset, that is Valeton VLS Pole Position Pedal Switch)

There are two modes on this unit. Instant access (one switch represents one loop) or Preset mode... Any combination of loops can be activated by one switch. In preset mode you can just hit one button and go to the next preset.

I looking to get a pedal switcher and my options are Carl martin mk3 and the Moeer MK2. The Mk2 is way more budget friendly than the Carl Martin but I do not want to end up having latency issues by picking the cheaper option. If any of you guys have used the Moeer mk2 , Please let me know if there are latency issues or if there are any strong reasons i should choose the Carl Martin instead of this.

definitely some latency on the Mooer. I haven't tried the CM one... but just want to say if latency is an issue - don't' get this one.

In a preset mode you should be able to do that! It's been a while though I have to be honest... So I'm not 100% positive - I'd confirm in the manual.

Can you go into any detail on how the independent tuner out works on a external tuner ?? Basically if I use the tuner out, is the tuner on all the time, or is it off and need to be engaged just like on board tuner, and does it mute the signal when in use ?? No one explains this detail. They mention it, but don't give any detail on how it is set up. Thanks in advance for any information

Good question. Typically when you have a tuner out it can be on all the time. Since you're generally only feeding signal to the tuners input (and not it's output) it can't mute your signal but can still receive signal for tuning purposes. The tuner in this case is totally out of your signal chain.

Can you have some effect ran to the amps effects loop, as well has effects ran in front of the amp?

Seems this particular switcher doesn't have that option. I've seen some switchers that do have a couple of dedicated loops with extra in- and outputs that go to an amp's effects loop.

You can do that with every looper if you put the preamp (amp input -- amp send) in one of the loops.

Have you noticed latency when you switch a preset or an FX loop. I tested the L6 model and the latency was just unbearable. I can’t see anywhere if the switch is instantaneous or lagged.

good question. you can either get a switcher with more loops OR get a 2nd switcher. You can also just run some pedals in loops and others not in loops.

If I have saved presets, will the sound change if I turn the knob on the pedal? Or if the pedal has 2 footswitches will the sound change if I turn off one of them?

There are a few ways you can set up midi. In short, yes, you can set it up so that the midi presets change with midi and then you can change any parameter after the midi change has happened!

@@abdillahsyechbubakar Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to avoid answering with 'Yes' or 'no'... but midi is such a huge topic. You can save multiple presets on a midi based pedal (assuming the pedal has presets available, which most do). But your last comment can be interpreted a couple of different ways... You can save presets on midi, after a midi preset has been sent you can then hit a button on a midi pedal to make another change if that makes sense. But depending on the pedal this will mean different things depending on how the pedal is configured / brand / model etc. If you have a midi controller I would probably try and stick with as much control as possible from the midi controller instead of trying to mix midi control and direct control on the pedal.

Delay is too much. Boss ES-5 will only give me 4 loops, because I need to use effects loop. ES-8 have too much loop for what I need and is too expensive. Why tf are these things so expensive and it's either too few loops or too much loops.

I can speak from a small company doing manufacturing.. it's expensive to make this stuff if you want it to last... You could probably find 'cheap' stuff but I think you'd regret buying it.

It would seem so yes. They delayed the relay flip for one reason or another. You could get in touch with them to be 100% sure but I opened up and saw relay switching, not analog or another type of switching. They're website also says its true bypass. So no conversion there!
