Aside from Marimekko, there are also such finnish fashion brands as Vimma, Andiata (I think they have a store in Paris too), Balmuir (fashion+home decor), Sofia Ilmonen, Katri Niskanen. Lovia - leather goods. Papu design - baby/kids clothing. Kalevala - jewellery.

there are similar house tours in North America. I like watching the "parade of homes" in Utah! you can find videos about it on KZfaq. also, home and garden magazines usually build and decorate a "show home" and open it for tours, design inspiration and even sell building plans. i like the Southern Living magazine show home!
