You know the best thing about them? All her life, Dong Eun never had anyone on her side. Her classmates, teachers and even her own mother turned a blind eye or participated in all the abuse and pain she had to go through. And then Yeo Jeong comes into her life and he is exactly what she needed. Not someone who would try to change her to be the better person but someone who will be on her side no matter what and help her heal the inner child that never had that kind of unconditional love and support. From the beginning, he was 100% her person. Her biggest supporter. And I love that for her.

Exactly! They were destined to be together. They had each other's back from the start. When she left to go to the university after working at the textile factory, they both were at the coffee shop and was literally back to back, but did not notice each other at that time.

I love that she always thought fate would never be on her side, that she would always be alone and broken, with nothing in her life except for her rage, pain, and vengeance, but then this endlessly patient, selflessly loving goofball found her and brought all the happiness, love, and glory into her life that she never thought she would have. I love that there's this long string of events that brings them together - Sohee's mother doesn't give up hope that her daughter will one day get justice, Yeojeong's father - a good man - sees this and bends the rules of his hospital in the hopes that fate will someday answer the poor woman's prayers. And then it's his own son, who cries everyday as he misses him, that takes up that mantle and decides that he will become Dongeun's executioner to set things right. He waits a decade for her, never once making it about himself. And in the end, he brings justice to sohee, honor to his father, and love to Dongeun. When she said she was leaving out a 1% chance for fate, he told her to let him make up for that 1%. But he wasn't making up for her fate. He WAS her fate. I started watching this series thinking it was a story about revenge, but really, it was a story about Dongeun and Yeojeong's love, and I'm so happy they get to start a new life together in the end.

@@johncra8982 Exactly how I felt. I went into it expecting it to be too intense and too much of a brutal revenge story but then was pleasantly surprised with their story

They were married all of part two. They were waking each other up to meals and coming home to each other I was so overjoyed!!!

I loved it so much. It's why I'm so grateful that we actually got to see them end up together, instead of some cheap tryhard "shock twist" tragic ending where they didn't, like what you find in so many movies and TV shows trying so desperately to leave a strong impression on the audience these days, no matter the impact on the story. For once, I got exactly what I wanted and I've been on cloud 9 since yesterday when I finished the show.

I freaking love how you put a lot of Yeojung's lines in here that it somehow seems to be a version of the drama narrated by him and from his point of view...just like how we were shown the twist at the beginning of the last episode. Amazing edit. It's a beautiful love yet somehow heart wrenching if we delve deeper into Yeojung's behind story and feeling throughout his journey as Dongeun's headsman/ madman

Agreed. This edit made me realize that Yeojeong is such a key figure and the love he has for Dongeun is so central to the story, that in another show, Yeojeong could have very well been the main character that we followed. It reminds me of Waymond's character in Everything Everywhere All At Once. You go into the movie assuming that because it's Evelyn's movie and Waymond is just a nice pushover, that he's going to get tossed aside by the narrative. But then we find out that he was actually the heart and soul of the story all along. Yeojeong is the same way. Dongeun calls him a sweet psycho, but in my eyes, he was Dongeun's guardian angel.

@@johncra8982 I love you called him her guardian angel cuz from their first meeting onward he is her mentor, teaching her a skill she will need to get Doyeong's attention and establish a connection with him to make him leave Yeonjin one day, and a mental challenge that makes her a sharper strategist, so he really is a guiding force for her, a threatening shadow behind her and god's hand helping her through the show. i love their dynamic

This is the best edit I've seen. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this relationship, how perfect these two are for each other, and how happy I am that they found peace and love in each other's arms. When Dongeun bares herself for Yeojeong and shows him her scars, at that point in the show, we don't know that Yeojeong actually knows the truth of what Dongeun was planning from the very beginning, and that he always loved her and wanted to be her executioner from the very start, before she herself even thought to use him for her plan. So when he says the bit about "being better than the bullies" he's really just playing the part of the unaware man that's concerned for her, waiting for the moment when she'll be ready to ask him to do her bidding. Then when she bares herself in front of him and reveals her scars, the Yeojeong who says he'll k*ll anyone for her, that's the real Yeojeong. It's not just her beginning to reveal herself to him, both literally and figuratively. In that moment, he's also beginning to reveal his true self to her. What makes this so meaningful is that later on, when Yeojeong and the husband run into each other again, the husband says the same thing about forgoing revenge and being a better person, except he actually believes that stuff. In that moment, it's Yeojeong who h gives the speech at the start of the edit and breaks down for the husband exactly WHY getting revenge matters for some people - that for the victim, it's about your dignity, your honor, and your glory. I had been expecting the husband to get that explanation from Dongeun, but I found it so moving when the person who told him all these things ended up being Yeojeong instead, bc in just that one scene, the show made it absolutely clear that Yeojeong and Dongeun truly, deeply understand each other in a way that no one else ever could. Dongeun believed fate was never on her side, but the biggest reveal of the story is that Yeojeong had always been there. It's perfect.

I enjoyed reading your comment, it makes me realise again how important Yeojung's character is in this story. It's a shame many can't recognise that considering his character isn't one of the bad guy ones. Whenever I listen to these three songs from the soundtrack, I can't help but to think about the relationship these two have, how it started how it progressed and how it evolved until the end - The Song of the Morning Glory - The Way to Get to You - Strong Helper Basically as the writer said, it's the divine intervention that connects the two from start to the end

@@dna1729 I'll check out those songs! And I said this in a reply to another comment, but thinking about it, Yeojeong actually reminds me a lot of Waymond from Everything Everywhere All at Once. At the outset, you think that because it's Evelyn's story and Waymond is just some soft nice guy pushover, that he's going to end up getting tossed aside. But the end though, we realize that he was actually the strong all along, that he was the heart and soul of Evelyn's life all along, and his pure love is what saves her and ultimately saves the day. Yeojeong feels very similar, and his love for Dongeun is so important that in some ways, you could easily imagine another version of the show told entirely from his perspective, with him as the protagonist, and it would make sense. Dongeun was convinced that fate was never on her side, but Yeojeong was always there 🥹 She called him a sweet psycho, but in my eyes, he was always her guardian angel.

I am relieved of sadness for LDH because SHK returned for the man who loved her, respect her, and will do everything for her. They deserve to be happy. I am so much carried away by this part.
