It may seem minor, but my biggest fear with this show was that the series would make their own villains, as opposed to utilizing the near infinite list of z-tier marvel villains from the comics. And yeah they do change them around a bit but the series does actually use lesser known villains and I am here for it. Mad respect for that

I kinda love how Keyan perceives objects as real things designed off of a transformer and not the other way around

Two of the best jokes in the series are: Episode 1: Casey asks lunella what happens if they don't defeat aftershock, to which lunella states they'll be canceled after 1 Episode, and the text box above shows some sad animators Episode 10: the beyonder interrupts the scene, pointing out that Casey is obviously about to fall into a trap, as well as gives a backstory for the villain of the week

I did NOT know it was animated by Flying Bark Studios, that definitely explains part of why it looks so damn good

this show rocks! i’ve found myself rewatching all the episodes just to find new details and take in everything this show throws at you in a single episode. they really went above and beyond!

I like how characters can sometimes tween out in a static pose It’s a stylistic choice that adds some comedic flair to scenes where it’s present while actively centering our focus to the characters with actual animation. Not to mention that choice is probably takes work off the back animators to put more time on the more amazing sequences

Bless Laurence Fishburne! This show slaps so hard! Diamond does her thang (she also placed 5th on the X Factor) Every aspect of the show independently and cohesively comes together well. The hair episode is my personal favorite because of the resonating message, but the Beyonder is a close second. Really cool but chill shows like these are so refreshing. Also Lunella probably does the books but didn't do it for the episode where the money wasn't looking so hot. ;)

first of all, amazing video. this show is SO underrated and I hope it grows a long lasting fandom. second of all, PLEASE finish the owl house. as someone who was kinda annoyed by luz for all of season 1, I PROMISE you not only does she get "better" (cough she was always good now that I have perspective) but so does the plot!! I feel like anyone who enjoyed gravity falls will 100% enjoy the series. season 2 is almost entirely plot without any filler due to season 3 being shortened. I know you'll do what's right

As a big fan of the Moon Girl comics, I was so excited to see this animated! It’s also quite a few steps up from its source material, removing some of the more confusing elements. It’s visually fantastic, the music is great, and I just adore the character designs. Like. Oh my god. They’re all so cute.

I love how this show is straight up a calculated art project. Always managing to make good use of its shortcomings and making it into a full on style! And of course saving the budget for TEH FIGHT SCENES! Also I LOVEEEEE that the tracks in this show is actually memorable for a cartoon, I love when western cartoons make me invested in the songs and tracks enough to search for the Spotify.

‘Good Night Moon Girl’ (which was supposed to air on Saturday, and is a part of the batch dropping on Disney+ tomorrow) is EASILY the best body swap episode of a show I’ve seen since Carpet Diem.

I feel like they might save any huge Marvel stuff for future seasons, kind of like how Static Shock started off in its own little world before season 2 started with Static teaming up with Batman and Robin and then he met his future self in Batman Beyond, teamed up with the Justice League to save Richie from being possessed by Brainiac, hung out with Superman to tie up a plot thread from his show, and helped Green Lantern when he was framed by Sinestro.

I love every bit of this show it's fantastic. I never miss an episode.

I like the show so far. The stories are on the more standard side (done well, gotta start small after all) so I'm not as in love with it so far as I'm waiting for it to really build up and get great, it's in that "solid but growing " era at the moment. It has potential to be pretty great with the strong visuals, location and characters. Too early to jump on the "amazing" train but I am keeping an eye on it. The visuals really are fantastic. The bits for commercials remind me more of Toonami bumpers.

I like the choice to have this be it's own thing (Like, for REAL, this time), rather than ANOTHER MCU project. On top of that, the WAY this is animated, compared to Marvel's stuff REALLY helps it! (Like you already mentioned!)

As a big fan of Marvel extended media (including the MCU), Moon Girl surprised me in how fantastic it is in terms of standing itself apart from the MCU. I feel that whenever they do an animated Marvel series they use the MCU films as the source of inspiration, often leading to mixed results. Moon Girl is just its own entity that even if it references other Marvel characters and stories it focuses on its own groove and presence rather than be something adjacent to the MCU and I wish other Marvel shows moving forward take a cue. Also I KNEW the show's style reminded me to "Rise of the TMNT"; Lunella looks almost like April O'Neil in that series! Fantastic show that I PRAY Marvel fans don't sleep on... ESPECIALLY after ranting on five hour videos saying how superhero media has grown stale.

I was SO on board with this show when they dropped the opening song... I had that song on repeat for a long time! Its so catchy. Loving the show and it's awesome. The animation, choreography, voice acting, music, art style, jokes, characters, everything just works. I even forget that it's a marvel show because it is that good!

Think I remember the "Luz doesn't fit in" thing getting a lot less prominent after the first few episodes as she starts to? (The thing with the wizard knocking the chosen one mentality out of her system, making friends with other kids, that sort of thing). Like, I can't speak to whether or not that's enough, but it feels like a note worth making if you ever feel like trying to watch it again for whatever reason.

It's weird, ever since Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel animated shows have been in a steady decline, while the MCU was being praised, and now the MCU is in trouble and Moon Girl is possibly the spark that'll bring Marvel animated shows back to their high quality.

Just yesterday I saw a promotional ad for this series and my first thought was how pretty the artstyle was! You definitely convinced me to watch it

"I feel like 10 years from now everything will be Spider-Verse influenced and become oversaturated" I can never understand this. Everything that's Spider-Verse influenced has had their own unique style with just bits and pieces taken from some of what they did. That's like that gif of different cartoon characters with "bean heads" morphing into one another. They may be similar and comparable but there's always a major difference.

I just realised I never noticed that the characters just slide around the screen a lot it looks so organic and makes so much sense with the show that i just doesn't click like i think it would

You need to keep watching "The Owl House." The beginning is weird (and straight up frustrating), but it gets REALLY GOOD! It's like that meme where a guy stops digging right before he reaches diamonds. I'll give "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" a chance if you give "The Owl House" a chance.

The use of punctuation and dialog in the animation sequences in this show reminds me a lot of The Mitchells and the Machines

My favorite little detail of this show is the use of marvel characters. Hell graviton was the main villain of one of the episodes. My one gripe is the fact that they didn't call what's her face lady stilt man

The second batch of episodes that released are really good as well, they also definitely do good to expanding the supporting cast like how devil, the mom, the dad, and the grandma all get their own episodes

I absolutely agree with this! I do think comparing it with Hamster & Gretel might be a bit of an apples-to-oranges situation considering how H&G is a comedy-show first while Moon Girl is an action adventure show first. On that note, H&G has gotten a lot better since its first few episodes. Another interesting cartoon I'd reccomend checking out would have to be Netflix's Centaurworld. It's pretty short (2 seasons) and I really enjoyed it. Like Moon Girl, it also is a msucial with songs that play during important moments (usually 2-3 songs per episode). It also has really good animation (interesting fact: the human world and Centaurworld were animated by different studios). I'm honestly not sure how to describe it because it definitely has a lot of purposefully over-the-top comedy, but also has a pretty serious story that the show takes seriously (Centaurowrld gets really dark sometimes).

As a rigged animator of 8+ years you'd be surprised how insanely fluid rigged animation can really be. It's really a matter of how willing you are to work with your medium. Carmen Sandiego was animated in Adobe Flash, for goodness sake, as was almost all of modern My Little Pony (source: they were made in the studio I worked at).

Not only is the show visually appealing with crazy animation, but it also has some banger episodes. It's a kids' show first and foremost, but when it gets serious, it gets serious. It reminds me of Spiderman in the sense that they aren't afraid to put the characters through actual dangerous situations.

Moon girl is my favorite cartoon other than owl house as of now. I love the style and story of this show so much.

TGAMM is one of my favorite Disney cartoons ever, you should totally keep going with it.

This might be the best thing that Marvel has released this year. The song is so good too; it really captures the energy of the show. The show is so hard to find on Disney+.
