Can't believe we lost Bill in August 2020. I was just thinking about how much time I need to learn all his tabs and how glad I was that he's alive. I shall be forever subbed to this channel in his memory. RIP Bill Tyler's, you are being loved by many and you will be missed.

This is the first I heard of his passing. :( I used to e-mail Bill with questions, "here or there", and he was always gracious in his responses. With certainty, he embraced the passion of the guitar for himself and for others. My condolences to all of you in his family. And THANK YOU for keeping these films up and keeping Bill's stellar playing "alive" for a younger generation who will find these films and arrangements. :). Best to all of you. :). Antoine

Only just discovered Bill. What a beautiful sound and to have a sneaky sing along to. Very sad to also discover he is no longer with us but a great legacy to leave behind here on KZfaq for so many to enjoy.

Moon river, wider than a mile I'm crossing you in style some day Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way Two drifters, off to see the world There's such a lot of world to see We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me

This is beautiful. I’m tired of seeing guys play guitar with these euphoric looks on their faces, nothing wrong with it, but man some guys over do it. You on the other hand sir, you show passion and skill just playing this. So eloquent in style and in the way you let the melody ring out.

Yes it is in standard tuning. Follow the fingering and fretboard positions in the tab file if you are playing from standard notation this will ensure the correct chord voicings.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but I was wondering: What is your music background? Are you a professional studio guitarist or a guitar teacher? Did you study music in college? I'm an amateur and I'm really impressed with your arrangements as you always seem to be spot on even with the sophisticated chords. Best regards, Mike.

Technically flawless, wonderful feeling (especially tming and dynamics) and no fancy unnecessities. Maybe a little less compression would also do, without context?

Hey Bill, great video as always. I've recently discovered your channel and learned some of your arrangements. I have to say, they are all wonderful and I really appreciate all the hard work that you put into them. (Not even mentioning that you provide them free of charge.) Keep it up, mate! Best wishes from Germany, Kozho. PS: I think the moon river tab has a typo in bar 16 with the G# instead of the G on the lower E-string. :)
@guitardownunder16 жыл бұрын
G'day Mike, thanks for the feedback. You are right about bar 16, there is a mistake there. It should be a G natural in the bass part making it a G7b5 chord. All fixed now, thanks for the proof reading.

Beautiful rendiiton. I believe that's a pre Joe Pass Emperor. It's a super guitar. Late 80s/early 90s? What pickups are in it please? I've just got a 1992 EEJP on which I'm hoping to get that sound!!! Thanks

Hello there Bill - Is that an Epi Joe Pass model? I see Gibson cover over the truss rod in the headstock. Do you have the stock Joe Pass pickups or have you changed them out? I have an Epi Joe Pass (and several more guitars) and replaced the neck pup with a Seymour Duncan Jazz (which was a nice upgrade). You play well, and have nice tone. I've played my whole life, mainly as a hobby, but with passion and commitment, and have played in a few bands for 'peanuts' or free and still do play in a band. I have some similar solo arrangements that I use when I play. I hope in retirement years (soon) to be able to dedicate more time to the guitar. Keep on strummin'

Thank you for your wonderful version of 'Moon river'! I'm trying to play it with the tabs by link. Could you please clear, if the tenth and twelfth bar of the tabs are correct, and just need to be learnt to play confidently, so right melody line will appear anyway? Many thanks!
