Ok for those who werent aware, Brightspirit was a character introduced in tribute to a fan who died. Her parents had written to the Erins a few times about how their daughter was a big fan so when the Erins found out she died in a natural disaster, they made Brightspirit to honour her. The sequence is still REALLY weird and out of nowhere, but that's why it exists.

Her parents, Shiningheart and Braveheart, were also there. I always found the scene fascinating as it hinted at a “primordial spirit” kind of concept, that there were outside forces that were there in StarClan like angels and stuff. I even made my own Dark Forest warriors off of of the concept(Darkspirit, Ghostface, Brokenheart, etc). I understand now it was just a tribute moment, but honestly, they could really take the concept and run with it.

@Ferncloud brightspirit is a character that is a tribute to a fan who's parents wrote letters to the writers telling them how much their daughter loved their books. Unfortunately the fan (and I think her parents) passed away due to a natural disaster. The Erin's put brightspirit (and her parents also have characters) in the book to honor her and her family

Jaypaw was yeeted through time by the stick, which is connected to Roc and specifically *not* to Starclan. But Jay's Wing (possessed by Jaypaw) establishes Starclan in the Pre-clan world. But Jaypaw could only start the idea of Starclan if the idea of Starclan already existed. So, in short, starclan's existence is caught in a bootstrap paradox, and is only sustained by whatever was allowing the Stick to work. Oh boy, that really makes this new series and Moonkitti's vid about Starclan really ominous.

I'm in the last 20 pages of this book and I just want an excuse to rant somewhere about "WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL THEIR CLAN LEADER THAT ASHFUR TRIED TO MURDER THEM DURING THE FIRE???" or why didn't Squirrelflight tell her dad/leader about it ??? They easily could have told him that Squilf lied (she didn't) about them not being her kits to save their life and then no one would believe Ashfur because Firestar could just vouch "no that was a lie, Ashfur; and you're banished for trying to kill my grandchildren and also me that one time" or like why do they think literally anyone will believe Ashfur *anyway* ?!? I understand why Hollyleaf is believable later but Ashfur ? really ??? /grumble grumble /waits weeks for sunrise to come in the mail

I kept crying once I found out brightspirit's origins. It breaks my heart about what happened to them, it's nice to hear that their daughter was a warriorcats fan and that they put her and her family as characters in the book. May they rest in peace💜

Honestly- I was lost through half of this, because it's been *years* sense I've touched the books, and that's disregarding the fact I've only read up to the mountain cave tribe cats- (4th or 5th book series) But some parts of this I actually started to recognize, so I'd go "Oh, I know where we are" Only to be thrown into a mess of unrecognizable story points once again :''>
