It's definitely possible that Heart is still physically capable of speaking - he even made noises in episode 1. But being physically able to do something doesn't mean you're mentally able to do it. Since he can't hear himself, he might be uncomfortable with talking aloud as he wouldn't know how he sounds. Also, he hasn't had anyone to talk to in literal years aside from his parents, who barely interact with him anyways. Even if he did try talking to his parents they don't seem to listen to him much, and if he spoke at the wrong volume or made pronunciation mistakes I wouldn't be surprised if they got annoyed and told him to just stick to writing in the notebook. So, he's probably entirely out of practise, is likely silent out of habit, and might be very uncomfortable trying to say something when he doesn't know if it will sound right.

I really want Li Ming to take Heart to Moonlight Chicken. There, Jim will see how at ease and seemingly happy his nephew is. And then in a different moment, I want Heart to see Wen and Jim cooking in the diner while having their own cute moments for him to then realize he wants what they have with Li Ming and that he wants to be a part of the happily dysfunctional family that is Jim, Wen, Leng, Praew, their baby, and Li Ming.

It looks like Li Ming and Heart have [separately] decided that they want to participate in the work & travel experience. But then they both met and developed a lovely bond (friendship sprinkled with gay panic). Neither of them knows how to tell the other about their plans because they would be apart for a lengthy period of time; afraid to break the connection that they've formed.

He proceeds to visit the diner and cause a scene (which will not help him in winning back Wen's heart but has the potential to stop any developments between Wen and Jim).

They celebrated Loy Krathong last episode, which is in November. This episode it's Christmas. So, I think quite a bit of time has been passing, which might explain why Praew is so heavily pregnant lol. And also why Li Ming has been able to learn more Sign Language.

Look, I understand what Jim is saying to Li Ming's angry ass, but teenagers are a different breed of crazy. If I were Jim, I would not have mentioned paying his tuition. Out of experience, the only giant fight my mother and I got into was about school (I dropped out). We didn't talk for months after that. She finally decided to try and bridge the gap after I took the GED test. Since I was always pressured about school unlike my other siblings, the explosive outbreak between was to be expected. During that time, I even told my mother's bf to stay out of our family business because he inserted himself into the argument and I pushed back; that obviously didn't end well. With all that being said, arguments between teens and elders about school will bring out the kid's vicious side for sure. We see early on in the series that uncle Jim and Wen liked each other but have a complicated past. Alan and Wen still live together even though theyvhave been separated for a while. That's going to be a conflict. Uncle Jim has trauma from a past relationship and isn't ready to move on I wish Jim would listen to L Ming at some point, they are both stubborn and don't communicate probably because they hate confrontation. Uncle Jim is very old fashioned and stuck in his ways because of how he was treated and went through for being poor. Ming might not have dreams or ambitions but he's trying to figure himself out but you won't let him grow as a person because your too protective. No seriously fast pregnancy and being shown looking 6months when I don't even think Wen and Jim have known each other for that long It passed me off so much that the parents didn't try to learn TSL, your child has a hearing disability and you never asked him to teach you or cared to try and learn or take him outside so you can as a family .... learn how ro talk and communicate via sign language. I understand how Heart character feels , as a person whose always been king of sruck in the house because I had strict mom and step dad who wouldn't let me eat things without asking permission and I couldn't use my phone unless it was Day time or emergencies. I've had multiple classmates who had hearing problems but ASL wasn't available not that I know about. I did learn a but from watching Switched at Birth but that's all . I don't care what anyone says, Li Ming is the only person who understands Heart and knows how he feels. Having a parent or guardian who won't let you have freedom or are too strict and want to protect you from the world but also treat you like your either a kid or have something wrong with you. Li Ming is the only person who cared to listen and learn TSL to communicate with Heart and I love that about him. Li Ming can always talk to Wen and Heart whenever he has any problems at home.

I understand Jim's feelings and POV, I really do, but now I think it's time the series dig into Wen's and Alan's relationship, what the good times were like as well as the bad. It's only fair now after all of these flashbacks of Jim with his ex. And we still have no insight into why Jim's ex decided to cheat. I feel less empathy for Jim, who seems determined to be miserable and inconsiderate of the logic and reality that there are people in the world that aren't the same as his ex, than I do of Wen, whose stuck in just as sad of a place. He's trying to move on and separate from a relationship and a life that he's already broken away from but that won't let go of him, and at the same time he's pursuing this mutual attraction with Jim but keeps being rejected. I'm ready for Wen to keep moving on with his own life with more dignity and self respect. Or tell him the backstory Jim! Damn!
