Pile 2 hits the nail on the head. He doesn't want to lose me but doesn't want a romantic relationship. He stated that he has love for me but not the type of love he thinks I want.😢 He is still confused, I believe and isn't ready or may never be. He gives off mixed signals. We talked daily at one point. He is definitely hiding his feelings because he shows more effort than he did when we were living together years ago. He is commitment phobic. I was told by a psychic that he loves me BUT just downplayed the love to get a reaction so he could then change his behavior in alignment with my feelings. Pile 3: Extremely accurate. Secrecy: yes. We work together in a culture and environment where we cannot be open. It's been 4 months of feeling a strong connection but nothing has happened. Very very slow and it's definitely a secret. But also maybe his intentions are a secret. He's able to hide behind his cultural norms. I don't know if I trust him. Pile 3 - A really special bond but he keeps running from the connection and coming back so it’s very slow moving (this has been going on 2 years now).
