Im not saying cigars are 100% safe but you don't inhale the smoke you taste the smoke, its a lot safer than cigarettes. The FDA even did a study that claims smoking 2-3 cigars per week doesn't increase your baseline for any disease, sickness or cancer.
@ABurntMuffin
@ABurntMuffin 3 жыл бұрын
@@AyyTony in fact, a similar study has shown that nicotine, in small doses, is actually pretty beneficial for you. Does it counteract that carcinogenic effect of inhaling something burning? Naw, but the fake sugar in diet coke is literally just as carcinogenic.
@mapu1

@Trantor The Troll You realize its the same chemical? Creosote is literally tar, and you need huge exposure for it to become a problem. In fact its so safe most smoked meats use it as flavoring. No clue why, cause it tastes like trash fire, but they do. Heck a wood fired furnace probably produces more Creosote than those poles give off. Its about as TOXIC as vinegar. Don't stick your dick in it, dont chug the whole pitcher, dont get it in your eyes, and dont huff the fumes, but if you smell it in the salad, you are not gonna die. For fucks sake do people lack even the most basic chemistry knowledge? These are household chemicals people eat or come in contact with every day in most places that have smoked meat, and wood or charcoal furnaces. Also there is difference between actively inhaling(/putting in your mouth) a chemical, and standing next to it. Like are people seriously unable to comprehend difference between "Don't breath in smoke its bad, and gives you cancer" and think that anything smoke touches becomes deadly now? Cause thats literally what this seems like, as Creosote is part of smoke.

@@ABurntMuffin Fun fact, Cannabis actually helps remove alot of cigarette particulate that is carcinogenic, meaning people who smoke pot with their tobacco also run less risk of cancer from smoking. (Usually coughed out of the lungs in small dark mucus balls due to cannabis tars being easier for the lung to naturally remove than tobacco tars) [Source: Medical study and a personal 7 years of pot smoking and lungs that according to a doctor on my last physical"don't even show signs of smoking"]

say what you want about them, but I as a chemical technician give this guys credit for creativity in their setup. They made some pretty obvious, major mistakes during it, but this stuff can get way more complicated than most people would think when you really want to do it right. And at the very least, you definitely can't call these guys lazy. by the way, I doubt that the cresosote-treated poles are such an extreme threat that the site couldn't be used for a single run. It's definitely a long-term hazard, but since those are used poles which have been treated a long time ago, they shouldn't release a lot of it if you don't use them as fuel or expose them to direct heat.

Wear a respirator while finishing the construction of the ventilation. Add more ventilation than originally planned. Lastly coat the telephone poles in some form of sealers that is air tight and water proof. Be sure to have fans hooked up to that generator while finishing the construction of this bunker. The fans will help push out most of the toxic chemicals until the ventilation is installed and the poles are sealed.

"sealers that is air tight" - That doesnt have to work at all. Depends on size of molecules of that gas. They could be much smaller and still get through the paint easily. Theres much easier and cheaper thing to do. DONT USE THAT WOOD. Just get some new wood from your supplies store. Much easier and cheaper and SAFER thing to do.
@AGenericFool

@@martinbudinsky8912 Play captain hindsight and saying "Dont use that wood" is not helpful when you already got a hillbilly bunker with 6 of em holding up the roof. Obviously it's good advice for future endeavours, but saying it's easier and cheaper to use different wood AFTER it has been bought, used and is part of the core structure is a lil much of playing captain hindsight and kinda mean. Either way have a good one dear reader.
@martinbudinsky8912
@martinbudinsky8912 2 жыл бұрын
@@AGenericFool Not really? When you use bad materials when building a structure and it ends up being statically unstable or having other health hazards it has to be fixed or demolished. You got bad materials as part of the core structure? Good tear it down and start again. Thats what happens if the building doesnt pass inspection. And its the same thing in this case with health hazards. If safety being number one thing is the goal (as it always should be) then thats the only way. Mean or not. The builder should check all this BEFORE building the structure. So there should be no "hindsight" needed. Mistakes are always costly when in comes to building stuff.

@@martinbudinsky8912 honestly they could just slap some latex paint on it and call it a day its a old telephone pole hardly some major hazard. or build a poly tent inside the room ( probably a good idea to make sure the outside air layer between the wood and poly can vent out too) Way easier than tearing the whole thing down. its a still site not a commercial building or house... the irony of some inked up cigarette smoking wanna be rockstar probably on meth moonshiner complaining about a bit a creo smell is pretty funny though.

licensed alcohol makers badly acting as moonshiners. loosely scripted as in any 'reality' show, someone who never ever made moonshine could make it without all the 'problems' they go through in every episode. its about as real as the spongebob squarepants show and just as entertaining. producing alcohol is a simple process that anyone can do. all alcohol, be it in beer, wine, whiskey, or vodka, is not even produced by a brewer, winemaker, or distiller - it is produced by a humble, single-celled organism called yeast. ... This process, known as fermentation, is the first step in making any spirits, and the only step where alcohol is actually made. distilling is just the way you concentrate it to a higher volume.

@@1peanut how does gas get through a sealed membrane? Surely it could be coated and sealed properly to be safe.

Galvanized steel beams. Get a quonsen hut to tear down and use what you need and scrap the rest. You can cover it with dirt and plant trees over it . It won't rot for 100 years.

If these poles are old, they don't gass off anymore. Only when heated excessively. The fire also draws air throw the chimney so the area gets ventilated. But anyways: smart kid.
