love that they made this one of the most dangerous animals in Star Trek. my theory is that its from the same planet as the Tribbles. the moopsy drinks the bones of the creatures that eat tribbles then the tribbles feed on the meat and organ piles the moopsy leves behind. this explains why tribbles don't have bones.

However, the moopsy ate Narj, who doesn't have bones due to being plant-based, and the latter didn't have a corpse upon dying. While the moopsy being an apex predator among the tribbles would make sense since tribbles can reproduce like aphids (asexually and explosively), it wouldn't explain why tribbles don't have bones.

My guess is that the bones would be turned into liquid because of the moopsy having an acidic venomous bite. When it bites it's prey, it would leave the flesh and organs unharmed while the bones would go through a melting process where once it starts to turn into liquid, would drink the bones from the prey in the most excruciating way possible.

Teeth are made out of enamel, not bone. They are actually stronger than bones, which makes Moopsy's ability to "drink it" even more terrifying.

Kirby fans go through a lot. You got all this wholesome stuff and then in between all this cutesy little fluff there's like like seriously messed up and depressing lore which straight up beats you in a back alley and in the end you fight some eldritch abomination which god himself frars, and then it ends with Kirby like, eating a little cake with friends and laughing, and then it just ends. My personal headcannon? Kirby fans are always on drugs and the lore and eldritch demons get added in when their trip ends and reality smacks em in the balls

My theory is that the moopsy doesn’t technically drink bones but more specifically calcium. This could be the reasoning as to why the plant guy got sucked but didn’t have any bones. He could be a high calcium based plant.

Aside from being both incredibly adorable and scary the Moopsy also seems to be a very very smart animal. It figured out how to get into and then out of the swamp gobblers enclosure pretty quickly, was able to use a ladder to access vents to get into the room. This one is a reach but instead of jumping at the door when it was stuck the room like it did earlier it went straight to the command console for the station.

Would love for this fella to be a cousin to Tribbles A series of cute, innocent looking animals that have adapted its innocent appearance to be a weaponized on prey as a lure. I've been toying around with headcanon that the Klingons started going on hunts to try and rid the Galaxy of Tribbles. And when they realized that wasn't extremely possible they started working on genetically creating a creature that would be able to obliterate the tribble populations. Taking notes from the disgraced Arne Darvin about how humans find triples cute they crafted a creature so cute and so menacing they figured it would destroy the tribble. But they didn't stop to consider whether or not Tribbles actually had bones. Thus creating......moopsy

After consuming two Pyrithian swamp gobblers, proprietor Narj and Commander Ransom's teeth, Moopsy went back to its enclosure, completely ok with being imprisoned again. Moopsy was content. :)
