I don't care what anyone's beliefs are, so long as they don't push it on anyone or consider it *the* primary part of their identity (which usually results in pushing it on others). I respect Brian for this reason. I know he is religious because he mentions it from time to time, but it's only when it makes sense, and he never pushes anything or condemns others for not sharing the same beliefs. Your edit, on the other hand, is pushing things. If you just left it at the first part, fine. No problem. It makes sense. I get that it's likely why Brian knows some of these languages. It stays lighthearted and on topic. The edit, not so much. Hate you? Love you? You don't care? Well, I know nothing about you. I am indifferent. But you certainly seem to care what others might think of you for being Catholic. Otherwise, there would be no need for the edit. Is it intended to gauge support? To attract like-minded people? To start a kerfuffle with those who take issue? There must be some intent, right? If you really don't care, then no need to say it. Having to come back and edit this in when no one had even replied yet, implies you actually care quite a bit. Or maybe I have it all wrong. Maybe I misunderstand the reasoning. Whatever the case, I would be interested to know what's behind it.
