Join in on an exclusive tour of the Morakniv factory! Watch a knife being made, from the initial cutting of the steel to the finishing packaging. Welcome to the world of Mora!
Our factory is still located in Mora, Sweden - just as it was a century ago. This is where we manufacture all our knives using a combination of craftsman’s skill and modern technology - and rigorously check every step of the process. Design, material and methods are all constantly refined by staff who have inherited generations of professional knowledge.

My dad was in the coast guard when he was a teenager and when going thru his old camping gear with him he found his old Mora Knife, he gave it to me and today i’ve started refurbishing it (Removing rust, Fresh Varnish on handle and now onto sharpening) absolutely beautiful

Love the philosophy, quality, and history of Morakniv... And my buying habits reflect this. These knives are not pretentious boutique items you bring out at a BBQ to brag on, and live life in a display case - No, these are made to work, and be afforded by everyday people who appreciate simple, honest quality. 95% of everyday tasks needing a knife can be done with Mora knives, and they PUT TO SHAME many knives in the $100+ range. Keep at it Mora, and I'll keep buying them. Thank you.

In terms of price to performance ratio, this is no doubt the absolute best brand in the world, nothing can compare to a Mora if you want a reasonably priced blade, and when compared to even the priciest knives on the market, the cutting performance is nearly identical, the only difference being wear resistant and aesthetics.

They are one of the most reliable knives on the market by far. Thank Mora for making such a great knife and staying humble. Most knife companies would have doubled the price once they noticed all the interest. Cheers from California.

A good friend gave me a Mora knife. I already had many "good" knives, costing hundreds of dollars, with lots of recognized names and reputations. Let me tell you, everytime i head into the wild, i never leave without my Mora. It gets scary sharp, great in hand, and doesn't require alot of time returning its edge.

I also have the same experience, add the price tag and the fact that they are lightweight, which means that are easier to carry and they won't get much damage if you accidentally drop them on the ground. Best bush knives period.

Yeah I used to own fallknivens, bark river, esee and others. In the end I sold everything except a couple of Mora. In the tests I did the Mora cut much better because of the thinner blade. Difference in steel is mostly theoretical. I find the steels hardened by Mora to be more than sufficient and are easy to sharpen. Handles like that on the Mora 2000 are unbeatable and work in all weather. No exposed metal that freeze in the cold. Handles that grip even when wet or slimey. Just straight up better knives. Not just better for the money, but better knives period.

I think you just sold me a couple more... I have a Companion, which amazes me with it's capability, comfort and value. I'm currently using it as a rough whittling knife: it batons branches into quarters, then does the rough bark removal. Next, I got an Eldris (in "Ben Blue") just to see how I'd like a pocket fixed blade. It has quickly become one of my favorites. I will make one request: offer harder steels for at least some of your outdoor knives. Something around Rc 61 and stain resistant. (Maybe D2 or S30V?) I feel that Mora can do this and, while more expensive than the lower hardness steels offered today, still offer a great value. I guess it would require some new tooling, but remember that your competitors are charging much more as well. Since you produce on a much greater scale, you can still beat their price.

I just bought my first new morakniv companion a few days ago. I learned about morakniv a few years ago on youtube. I found a knife at a garage sale and I bought it. I knew it was a moralniv but I didn't know what type. Now I'm pretty sure it is a 511 but it has a green handle and a lanyard hole- none of the one's I've seen have that. So a few days ago I bought a new mora companion so now I have 2 mora. One for the kitchen and one for the bushcraft. 😎🇨🇦👍

Many say there is nothing like a handmade knife. I disagree to an extent. Yes, the attention to detail and finish of a knife from a reputable custom maker is great, but they're extremely expensive. Moras are perfect, and you can buy a Basic for less than $10 in most cutlery retailers. I own about ten Morakniv now (in both carbon and stainless steel), and every one of them is perfect. Yet, from most of the American cutlery brands, it varies immensely between knife to knife to some brands in terms of finish, sharpness, and smoothness of action. Around the time I first noticed this video, I was studying mechatronics when I took a roughly one-year break from finishing my BS in Management to complete both the Siemens Level 1 and Level 2 mechatronics programs. Robotics and automation produce far more repeatable results. That's why the Swiss knives are so good as well--it does not vary that much. Also, it cuts down on production costs A LOT; and helps to keep production within a country's own borders. As someone who does farm work, a bit of outdoorsmanship, DIY, and carpentry; Morakniv are, in my opinion, the best knives one can purchase with a small budget.

@@MoraknivOfficial may I ask, I have the mora classic 2f (red wooden handle, rat tail full tang). Is this a knife that is designed for hard, heavy duty work as well? I think not, right? I put it in a vice, knife blade down, and I could really wobble and move the handle back and forth, as if the steel inside was elastic. Makes me think this is a knife for lighter duties am I right. I have seen pple on youtube betonning it through logs and big wooden pieces and stuff and it held up well, though. How much can you pry with this knife? Should i? Again, I think I know the answer, but I would like your opinion

I have mora no 1 and 2. The whittling knives, Companion, Kansbol, Garberg, 511, Robust and probably a few others I forget. The best one is the Mora 2000. The handle is unbeatable as is the blade. I wish you update the looks on the 2000 sheath though. Perhaps offer the 2000 with a red handle and black sheath to echo the classic knives. Imo the 2000 is the no2 for the 21st century. Best knife in the world. Oh and please offer it in carbon steel too!

Morakniv 💚 I have my first Mora (classic) with age of 10 years. From this moment i like this knives. I have a question; could you maybe make a morakniv bolo machete? Carbon steel with full tang, 2-2.5mm blade thickness, 35 cm blade length and rubberized plastic handle? i think i and some people would love them. Greetings from Kleve, Germany

Wish my Mora Robust had been made with all of the lauded precision and craftsmanship mentioned here... Right from the factory packaging the blade was mounted crookedly in the handle (have seen others mention the same issue), and the sharpness was just OK (super cheap 511 was very sharp)... Also, although the plastic sheath is serviceable, knife retention is VERY poor... It needs to be at least twice as much, without fiddling around with modifications. No hate, just facts.
