It's Morbid time

Couldn't remember where I heard about this title, but then it came back that Iron Pineapple did a review of the demo some time ago, hope they improved since then

Isnt this Morbid white hair character the same which was in the pixelated asymmetrical rpg game some time before released? And now they go full souls game. Interesting.

Got the physical edition preordered. Let’s go!

The tone is set from the classy hand-painted title screen: Morbid is an adventure containing grueling and violent combat. The graphic quality makes a strong impression when starting the game, because the pictorial art aesthetic accompanies us from start to finish, in a rendering that splashes (as much as the sprays of blood) the retina, evoking more the typical colorful heroic fantasy D&D as harsh dark fantasy like ELDEN RING. The penciled aspect is never far away, which ensures a smooth transition with the pixel art iteration of this young saga. The visual customization is therefore extensive and very elaborate, which contrasts with a narrative that could not be more minimalist. However, this is not enough to discourage aficionados of the genre, who are well versed in this creative process. Let us also point out the presence of an epic musical soundtrack with dark tones, full of dramatic choruses and lyrical flights, one could hardly dream of better. Structurally speaking, MORBID takes us back to the great classics: central hub, vast areas to explore, devious bosses to eradicate...we won't dwell on it forever, but it's well designed. The gameplay, on the other hand, has its share of subtleties, and highlights its crazy system. Sinking into dementia alters the perception of the environment, the main character and the enemies, making confrontations even more stressful than they already are 😰! What in my humble opinion sets MORBID THE LORDS OF IRE apart from other "souls like" productions is the sticky and gloomy world that it depicts, where each place crossed is littered with rotting corpses, leading to a sort of attenuated unease by the rendering close to an animated film. The developers have understood how to make horror appealing! Even the fights which are the lifeblood of it, and although they are demanding as tradition dictates, are not so frightening when we see that death does not deprive us of our precious XP. Difficult certainly, but not penalizing, and particularly pleasing to the eye, MORBID is an action RPG that is completely pleasant to navigate, satisfying to play, and a sure bet from an artistic point of view. A successful bet for the talented studio STILL RUNING, which did not seek to be too ambitious, but enough to drastically renew the experience compared to the founding opus. Taking this into account, the result is impressive.

Man, I'll tell you, these dark souls type games are coming out of the wood work

We are almost 4 years into the ps5 life cycle and we are still getting ps4 games.

I've already played and I don't like the art design at all. In addition, there are very dark landscapes where you can't see anything and it is very difficult to explore. Just for this reason I'm not going to continue playing it.
