More about Static Torque Twist of RC Model Cars

2 жыл бұрынThis movie presents some more insights about static torque twist, how it can be demonstrated and how the drive train can change the amount of torque twist. Static torque twist can make the chassis tilt to the left or right side. While dynamic torque twist arises only during short phases of accelerations, static torque twist occurs during slow movements, for example when the motor pushes the car against static obstacles or steep slopes. A larger gear ratio leads to a larger torque twist. Demonstrations and computations are based on two 1:10 RC model cars: The MST CFX-W J45C and Traxxas TRX-4 Defender.

so do we need extra reinforce for the chassis to maintain the static torque?. thanks for expalnation

Exactly! A stiffer chassis will bend much less!

I wonder if over drive for the front axle reduces torque twist and is it significant? Also I wonder why anti torque twist gearboxes are so rare, and when they are used, most often it's the only feature of the gearbox.

I think overdrive does not influence torque twist a lot. And as far as I know, anti-torque-twist gearboxes only invert the rotational speed direction. This might be beneficial for static torque twist (depending on the drive train and transmission arrangement), but not for the dynamic torque twist, which comes mainly from the motor.
