This is what Grime should and did sound like, hard basslines, brash instrumentals and Garage-like flows. You can still find stuff like this but when everyone just recommends the mainstream artists you're unlikely to come across a sound like this

This is from 2002, when *Garage* was being turned into a new genre called *Grime* in *Greater London,* while at the same time *Garage* was being turned into a new genre called *Bassline* in *Yorkshire.*

It was called Niche after the nightclub in Sheffield of the same name before the name became Bassline. Just like Grime was known as Eskibeat because Wiley named his beats as that. Grime was it’s given name when more producers and mcs started making similar music and Pirate Radio were putting on sets. I’m from Yorkshire I was as in my teens when this was all happening.

The earliest stage of grime had a mix between garage music and hip hop that why the beat are aggressive and fast an old school classic roll deep when I’m ere is a hood classic

If you like this you gotta check out the original Lethal B - Pow. There is a 2011 remix which is cool too but the OG one is a classssic. It got banned from clubs at the time because it got people too type and made people fight 😂 keep up the quality content my bro

Not many track have an impact in the garage scene as this. This tune was wild in a rave. Literary, it turned into a mosh pit with limbs flying everywhere and the place going wild. Was at one rave and it had to be pulled up 4 times. Was such an important tune for what because grime. The next time that had a similar impact was pow.

Im 46 and from the UK. The 90a was a bit crazy, garage scene was gangter. No cctv things went off. They were finding their gangter attitude. Grime came out of these dark beats.
