It’s not just a Florida thing.

it is not just in Florida. I live in Florida, I am blind, I make about $1000 a month on disability, I cannot get a job, be unemployment rate, for those who are disabled is that 80%. I go to a food bank once a month where family member takes me, and I get a whopping at $95 a month and snap benefits. I live by myself. I also live in sub housing, it took me four years to get into here where I’m at now. So it’s not just for the people who work who can’t make ends meet, if even worse for people like me who are disabled and live by themselves. Thank God, I live next to a grocery store, and I’m taking mobility lessons, to get myself there and back, because there is no public transportation where I live. There is paratransit, but they only you to call 14 days in advance of your doctors appointment, or when you going to go to the grocery store.

Power doubled, got message going up another 20%, water up, trash collection up. Duke was here In December saying they would put in underground power in a couple weeks. Still waiting.

I left my home state of Florida. My homeowners insurance is 1/3 of what it was. My $500.oo water and sewer bill in Florida is now zero here and the water is perfect. Car insurance is 1/3 cheaper. Groceries are less and higher quality. Taxes are 1/4. No trash expenses. I have 25 acres instead of a small lot, a bigger house and an eighty mile view from my mountain home. No traffic, no neighbors, and deer in my front yard. I made a damn good move. Best of all no Ron DeSantis, book burners, a very few MAGA nuts.

The companies in this state will not pay competitive wages. We lose good workers constantly for this reason.
