MORE FORGOTTEN MAPS of Counter-Strike! - Episode 2

There are a lot of maps over the years that have appeared in a Counter-Strike game. Some of these maps have disappeared and never returned. Some of these maps were actually in development to launch with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive but were scrapped. In this video, I take a look at a handful of maps from comments that were left on the last video! There are some awesome Counter-Strike maps that you guys seem to miss from the old days and we can only hope some of them make a return with Counter-Strike 2.

Piranesi is one of my favorite maps, I have the CS:GO port as well, pure class, it has an unique atmosphere too, both in 1.6 and Source versions.

O man I remember some of these maps when I was a kid with no money to buy any games. Had a cheap ass desktop I used to play a pirtaed version of condition zero. completed so many map missions but could never play with real players. This brings back so many memories.

The missions with the bots are probably some of the most fun you can have in the game these days, you get to avoid getting kicked from servers for being too good.

Cs_siege a hostage rescue map. Half the time was wasted for the CTs to travel from the start zone to the hostage area 😅

prodigy was one hell of a map. because its not so "open"... most of these old maps would be dominated by the already allmighty AWP

It's cool to see people that still enjoying and appreciating the maps from the past despite not being competitive viable because that wasn't even a thing back in the day. With that said, more forgotten maps to add to the list could be Siege, Backalley, Airstrip and Chateau.

Don’t know if you’ve shared it but de_foption is one of the most forgotten maps I can remember.

Foption was pretty cool back in the day. Bit weird that for a map titled "Final Option" it actually had 3 options for potential bombsites to plant at though. Definitely a map worth talking about in a future video.

Yeah! There were some weird ones back in beta like wpndepot, as_forest, de_railroad, cs_jail. I still remember playing 7v7 cs maps in actual leagues back then. Can't believe it's been 23 years. I can still hear those slot machine sounds in vegas or the loud machines in oilrig in my head like I just played them. 😂@@KotekCS

Can't believe de_dolls didn't make it on here, Unreal Tournament "Rat maps" were some of the best maps to play and dolls in CSS was a great homage. It's weird though that me an friend were trying to remember the name of the castle map about the time you released this video, thanks

I remember a few ones too: de_survivor - heavily played on public servers; de_cpl_mill - pretty similar to tuscan, but in its own way; de_prodigy - even played on the first “major”; cs_assault - one version was in csgo, but it was slowly forgotten (version cs_assault_lol was very popular on bublic severs, basically it was cs_assault with more ways for cts to enter the hall)

de_tides is my favorite map of all time, i don't think iv'e seen anybody talk about it but it's honestly a really fun map to play. I have probably 15000 rounds played the last 3 years alone on CSCZ

I remember playing all of these when they were brand new. I have a day 1 steam account.. but played cs for maybe four or five years prior to getting steam.

In the next video you should add cs_deathmatch, that map was my childhood. Me and my brothers and cousins used to ran a lan server to play on it.

ancient is basically aztec2, casino and piranesi is still very much loved and played in source, loved the prodigy and chateu aswell. Since source 2 will be much easier to mod and stuff, we will see source 1 community servers makiung their way back, it was a long time, grimy csgo killed fun servers that was largely active and full for more than a decade in source.

I am not sure of the name but there was a map on 1.6 which took place in a castle like cobblestone but was different. There were two bombsite one at the roof and another a ruin at the edge of the map. The T will spawn near a gate and CTs inside a castle. Could you add it in your next video ( I was only 13 when I left playing Cs1.6 so I can't remember the name)

the best maps i played in csgo were very easy to determine the lake map on wingman, the old dust2 before the revamp and the old cobblestone before they removed it and finally cache

Sick video bro. You should look into the CSGO maps that were considered being added into operations from over the past 10 + years, theres some really cool ones with unique concepts and styles, but just didnt make into the Op at the time.

I know you probably don't want to focus on operation maps as they were always meant to be temporary but I'd love to see some honorable mentions for maps like Seaside or Overgrown.

It's back after many years de_Tuscan is cpl_mill's layout and even CS 1.6 Tuscan was updated version of clp_Mill.

I miss all the hostage maps. Its a mode I enjoy but have not gotten any love in Global Offensive. And it looks worse with CS2 that only has Office in matchmaking despite Italy also being in the game.

If memory serves me right, Italy is the only map in the game they haven't put in competitive mode even though they went to the effort of remaking it...

@@KotekCS Yea I suspect it will come into mm at some point... theres a few maps on the way. I know Train is being made and a few others. It does look bleak for my all time favourite hostage map since the original game and that is Militia. The winter GO-version did not click with me as much as the original. Agency was good fun so I think theres room for newly created hostage maps and a few oldies retouched in CS2. Even if defusal is the defacto go-to mode for the game.
