Ghostbusters is getting ANOTHER movie in 2020 plus a comic book crossover with Transformers, in addition to all of the movies, cartoons, merchandise and more the franchise has received since June 8, 1984. But on that same day in 1984, Gremlins was also released and made its mark in pop culture, but not as much as Ghostbusters. Andre Black Nerd makes the argument that Gremlins deserves the same amount of pop culture nostalgia love as Ghostbusters.

I don't know about Nostalgia critic. I'm just going by what I think. The Mighty Ducks animated series was an interesting spin on the franchise; making the Mighty Ducks hockey playing ducks from outer space who fight an alien threat while still taking time out to play hockey. I think Gargoyles was interesting. I recently rewatched the beginning episodes of it and they were really good.

@@haroldjhayward3241 The Mighty Ducks is definiately a guilty pleasure show, but credit where it's due the episodes did get better as the show went on, plus it's hard to knock a show that was self aware & Nosedive breaking the fourth wall like deadpool. But I'm game for both Mighty Ducks & Gargoyles to have a reboot, hell give them a crossover as well

I am pulling this entirely out of my ass, i'm hoping at least one more person remembers this cartoon (because the series wasn't finished): Pirates of Dark Water. That is one cartoon that doesn't get love. Or I'll even take a Ninja Science Team: Gatchaman reboot (aka's: Battle of the Planets, G-Force, Eagle Riders) if made well.

I'd love to see a movie based on COPS. No not the reality show with the Bad Boys song by Inner Circle as its theme song. I mean the cartoon about the Central Organization of Police Specialists. It would be awesome to see say, Keith David play Bulletproof. I can hear Keith David saying, "Fighting crime in a future time." and “It's crime fightin' time!”.

Fluppy Dogs (It was kinda like a kids version of Sliders. The dogs could sniff out doors to other dimensions. It was awesome, but only aired once on ABC.)

If there's one franchise I feel doesn't get enough respect it's Pirates of Dark Water. Still to this day my favorite TV show of all time and it makes me really sad that we will most likely never see the conclusion of the story.

I loved Gremlins as a kid, it was my first real 'scary' movie that I ever saw and in fact, several years later, it was during watching Gremlins that I first kissed a girl. I love them! And I need that animated series and reboot ASAP!

Gremlins, Ghostbusters, and Goonies are three great G's. Speaking of underrated, I think the 1985 movie Fright Night deserves more attention and love, too.

I really enjoyed Gremlins growing up. It absolutely needs to make a resurgence today. As for something I feel doesn't get enough love, I have to say Pirates of Dark Water. That show had so much potential and I think it'd do pretty well if rebooted today.

Got to agree- when I look back at which of the two films that had a bigger impact on me, "Gremlins" is one of those movies you could get me so excited just by talking about it that I'd want to immediately play it because I thought it was that good. And OMG, I thought my older sister and me were the only ones that remembered "The Wuzzles". As for a childhood franchise that needs more attention... "Gargoyles". See, it's another "G" word! And maybe just for Elisa Maza alone, an NYPD detective who was not only a woman, but also African-American and Native-American. Where do we get representation or a role model like that anymore? 1994 was ahead of its time.

It's been a while since I've seen your videos. It's nice to see that your still as nerdy as ever. They might have a Ghostbusters/Gremlins crossover. The electric Gremlin is kind of like a ghost, and there are a lot of dead gremlins that could become ghost. Chaos-from-beyond-the-grave style. Someone should at least put "Mega Madness, Super Badness" back on the airwaves. That song is catchy!

Gremlins scared me too when I first saw it as a kid (mainly Spike) just like you I love it and it really deserves more love. The creature designer auctioned off a lot of his original models and props he created a few years ago. Also... Mummy’s Alive needs a reboot. Andre! I miss you! Gremlins 2 is a movie I've come full circle with. As a kid I liked it because of its silliness and the out-there versions of the Gremlins. It was kid friendly...come on. As a teenager I hated it because of its ridiculousness. It was goofy, over the top, and unnecessary. It wasn't until my 20s or so that I came to appreciate it for its satire of the original and its way of portraying certain characters. EVERY actor was some kind of caricature. The only actors who played it straight were Phoebe Cates, Zach Galligan, and Dick Miller. Everyone else hammed it up so well, especially John Glover.

I used to love Gremlins. I had a Gremlins t-shirt as a kid, and I wore it even after it became too small. I loved Flight of the Navigator. I used to watch that just as much as Gremlins, ET, Ghostbusters and the Beetlejuice. For some reason my mom kept renting those movies over and over. Oh, and some random Disney VHS that had Donald go to ‘Math Land’

I was born 1991 and I have some vague memories of Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron. I don't remember any of the episodes, but I do remember that sweet, sweet opening with that rocking theme. I've heard talks of a reboot happening, but the last piece of news on that was from like, two years ago.

Love this, cause as an aircraft mechanic every time there is a problem that we can’t quite figure out and it keep returning we blame it on there being gremlins in the aircraft and we just have to find and remove them.
