Just a safety tip if you're going to use a extension lead on a reel unwind it completely of the reel while in use as you can and will induce a over load in the cable and cause a fire , I've had it happen to me and seen it happen when working on a job site . If you unwind it and just lay it on the floor it won't cause a problem .

Hi, You may not have got it all finished ,but you did find out what the problem was . Which is so much better than leaving the Dry dock with a big question mark hanging over you ( definitely no sleep if that was the case ). With the leak in the Gas Locker could you fashion some sort of Canvas / Plastic cover to go over it , for the time being. To keep the rain out . Good old George well done ! I’m sure everyone watching will have wanted to give you a BIG Hug when things started go wrong . Looking forward to seeing you all in action next time and sorting those holes out for good . 😊

Told you that locker needed draining 🤪. If the locker is well above the water line, stick a clamshell drain on both outer walls . Then do regular (when you change a gas bottle) check ups on the state of the locker.

You are well acquainted with the Boatswains best friend, the needle gun. Loud and dirty work. Picture that for a 2 month stay in the shipyard, 24/7. The worst part of naval life. Dirty, loud and miserable, yet part and parcel of nautical life. Very very few “sand crabs” are familiar with preservation and maintenance of nautical craft such as what you have quite effectively tackled. Must say I am impressed with your endeavors.

You could have called this May, George and the Giant Jigsaw Puzzle. But like you said better safe than sorry if there is water in places were you don't really need it. As for the maintenance you can see to that when you do the blacking at the same time. The main thing is that you now have plan of action and with George's help I am sure it's going to be mission complete very soon.

Yeah, better safe than sorry. Love your attitude, "That's a future May's problem." Do what has to be done, then what needs to be done, then what should be done. Best advice my dad gave me, when I was going through a really difficult time was, "Worrying is pointless, don't worry. If the worst happens, then worrying didn't stop it from happening. If it doesn't happen, then you made yourself feel like sh1t by worrying. So... stop worrying. However, if there's anything you can do to help the situation, then do it, straightaway, don't put it off. Do it and stop worrying. After watching a previous video where you spent a few hours in a locker with angle grinder I was going to suggest a needle gun, but you got there before me. Noisy though! I came to your channel after watching @AussieBoater, Nick, lovely guy, who after 4 years has decided to sell his narrowboat. So I wanted to find another narrowboater so here I am. Me? I'm retired, I have a GRP Hardy Pilot, only 20' so more cramped than you! Plus my Giant Schnauzer is much bigger than your pooch. But, I'm not a liveaboard. ATM getting her seaworthy, rewiring, (no rust to contend with, thankfully.)

Remember that red oxide paint is hydroscopic and absorbs water. it must be painted over for full protection. Sorry if this has been said before.

Super interesting and entertaining video! What I didn't quite get is, did you end up fixing the hole in the gas locker? Considering the amount of work that needs to be done, wouldn't it be more efficient (time and money) to spend like 3 days and fix everything in one go?

I refuse to lower the Tone in reference to Cracks and you and George have been at it for hours in the same position 🤭. You are Happy and it is lovely seeing you Smile and have a Giggle, you are glowing Hun and that’s all anyone can wish for. George is definitely a beautiful influence on your Happiness and your Mindfulness. I know all about thinking about all the what if moments and the could it be this or that and all the buts ifs and maybes !. I have 2 Disabled Adult Sons who have Autism and 1 being non verbal and quite severe ADHD,OCD etc so with him not communicating if he is Hot/cold or Hungry/thirsty and ok or Sick ! Literally every day is a list of ifs buts and maybes and a lot of questions to judge his reactions to find out if he is just ok ?. You’ll get there with your Boat Hun,just take each day and each problem one step at a time and it will get better…. You can guarantee that she will be grateful for all the TLC you and George are showing her. I think she has been neglected by her previous owners in the past and someone has been trying to cover her problems rather than dealing with them !. Now you are on the Case,she’ll be right before you know it. I hope your Ex is watching your videos and seeing how Happy you are now and maybe you are realising that you are definitely better off without that Knobhead in your life and maybe HE was a lot of the Bad Vibes and it was nothing to do with you!.

This may surprise you. but you look far better nice and clean with a touch of makeup than you do angle grinder mucky. Really glad you found a friendly welder, few more working bbq's / drinks and you will soon be sorted and much better than all the tears now your on the case and found what needs attention, and really good new it's above the water line, save all the dry dock expense for a bit longer. Would help if you posted a PayPal address as your coffee funds seems to only go to 5? Or it does on my computer. Have fun.
