Long known in TNP as my favorite light duty multi-tool, the Leatherman S2 Juice continues to set standards in compactness, light weight, durability, and function. But it may be lacking in tool set for certain duties. Then you might want to JUICE it up with the also excellent Leatherman CS4 and XE6 MDMTs. Adding a saw, awl, file, and rescue cutting blade (depending on model), these multi-tools have postive detents and the US produced quality we love in our Leathermans. They will add more weight and may not fit into your system (embrace the fanny pack!) but they are more capable than the S2 in most ways. The colorations are excellent in both and they would make perfect gifts. Value is very high for the quality levels and apparent durability. At their weight levels you may have to make a choice on whether going with these or some other good alternatives like the Leatherman Wingman or Sidekick.//////////////////////Nutnfancy LIkability Scale on both: 9 out o10 (pitch the stupid cork screw and its pure tensies)

The Rebar weighs the same as the CS4 with longer, locking tools, an awl, the best wire cutters on an MT, and for a bit less cash, (steel costs less than the Aluminum.) just a thought. Especially for guys who use the tools often, or my favorite, wilderness use. Everything you need, nothing you don't, strength in reserve.

There are a lot of multi-tools out there with small flat blade screwdrivers, but Leatherman got this right by making the shank slim as well. I use flat blades often at work and these have three, I'm sold. Getting the S2 though, as I will be carrying it in my pocket. Thanks for the comparison.

Man, don't hate on the corkscrew! It may not be super utilitarian but for real, I've had to bust that sucker out a couple of times now at family gatherings and parties. The corkscrew has, as you like to say, "saved the day" more than once now. Also, you state in caption toward the end here that you're sticking with the S2 because the CS4 is heavier and doesn't have scissors. While it is indeed a bit heavier, it DOES have scissors! It has everything the S2 has plus an awl, saw, and of course the corkscrew which is the real star of the show! ;)

I've carried the S2 EDC pocket carry day in and day out since December 2011. Just lost it at a party last week and I'm trying to decide whether to go with another S2 or move up to the CS4... The Juice line is just incredible! I would never think of buying anything other than a Juice for an EDC multitool.

I've carried a Leatherman Fuse for about 8 months now and I love it. I got it as a gift but if I wasn't a poor college student I would get a Juice S2 for EDC just to cut down some of the bulk in my pocket from the Fuse. Keep up the good work Nutn! Oh, and I can't wait to see how Killer turns out after that turbo kit!

The next time you get a knot in your shoelace that you can't untie with your hands, try using the corkscrew to get it untied. I've done this several times with the corkscrew in my swiss army knife and it works VERY well.

I've found them to quire good at open knots with, if you don't have pliers. If you have a picnic, it might be nice with a glass of wine. Most wines that I drink still have natural cork.

You annotated, towards the end of the video when you said that you won't replace your EDC S2, about the CS4 that it doesn't have scissors. It does have scissors just thought you might want a heads up on that so your aren't steering anyone in the wrong direction. Thank you for all the videos. I am a long time supporter of TNP and have been with you since 08. Thank you again and keep up the great work!

I have a CS4. I love the corkscrew. It is designed like a wine key. You use the can opener to leverage the cork out of the bottle. It was definitely worth goning with the CS4 over the S2

I really wish they had pocket clips. I'd love a lightweight MT like a juice, but with out the pocket clip, I feel like the sidekick will never lose its place on my daily carry. For me personally, I'd rather have the weight trade off for convenience at hand. Just too dang annoying rummaging around even with a lanyard tie.

+Skinny Moose agreed it works really well as a marlin tool and also for other odd jobs that you would never think off, the other day at my girlfirends house she got her plug stuck in the bath without a chain on and the only thing we had in the house that could remove it was my corkscrew on my swiss army knife but my juice would also have done it.

I like the Juice Xe6 but if I purchased the Leatherman Surge or Charge TTi, I wouldn't mind EDCing those larger multi-tools, especially with the bit kit set and bit drive extender. Heck, I would even buy the pocket clip for the Charge TTi and have the multi-tool in my pocket like a pocket knife. That's just me, though.

I don't really lug around bottles of wine that often, especially if I'm in the bush. Most of the ones I do buy are sealed with screw tops these days. I'm open to having it on there if some alternative use can be found, but it's really only good for one thing, so far as I can see, and that's removing corks.

Ditch the Corkscrew?!? Nutn, that critical piece of gear saved me one time when I was on a picnic/date. I packed a bottle of wine, but forgot the corkscrew. CS4 to the rescue! Like Red Green used to say, "If the women don't find you handsome, at least they should find you handy!" When used in conjunction with the can/bottle opener it generates the proper leverage to remove just about any stubborn cork. I find it a superior design to the SAK corkscrew.

Hey Nutn, Long time viewer, first time comment. Through your subtle hinting, I have decided to come out of the fanny pack closet. I haven't worn one since 1993 but back then I _loved_ my pack. I have asthma and I have to lug around inhalers, so a fanny pack makes that so much more comfortable. Also, I like your U.S.K. advice about black gear and not camo. Great job, keep it up!

I think the only thing I've ever used my SAK's corkscrew for is fishing the string out of a pair of athletic shorts after pulling too hard on one end. Oh yeah, and to hold a Swiss Army Mini Screwdriver which stores neatly inside the corkscrew--it's perfect for tightening the hinges on your eyewear.

The CS4 has scissors, at least in the current models I've seen. I'm glad someone else said what I've thought for a while; the corkscrew isn't useful for that many situations. I'd rather see another tool in its place, like a good file or a serrated blade. I think if the CS4 had a file in place of the corkscrew it would be my perfect MT.

I've got the juice c2. Only one he didn't review, same as the s2 but with the corkscrew instead of the scissors. Have rarely ever "needed" scissors but can't tell you how often I've actually used the corkscrew. Actually bought it specifically for the corkscrew because of several gatherings where all we had was wine and nobody had a corkscrew. Just recently put it on my key chain for edc and hardly notice the extra weight.

I own an XE6 myself and got one for my grilfriend. I like it but it is bulky. The corkscrew is just unnecessary. I actually had to open a bottle with it once and it was a torture. Took me a long time to get it open without breaking the multitool. Main reason I got the XE6 over the S2 was the file which I think is handy to have. I don't even use it that much :D. But I EDC the thing all day, every day. My girlfriend actually uses hers more, but she doesn't carry a knife, so thats why.

The only complaint I have with my Juice XE6 is if you close either the straight blade or the serrated blade too hard, a small portion of the blade will be damaged by the interior of the multitool that sticks up a little bit.

I love my XE6. I have had it for years (I think I got mine the first year they were released) and I have carried it every day and actually use it every day. I keep looking to see if Leatherman comes out with something worth getting that would make me retire my XE6 but there just isn't anything out there that compares - for me anyway. I have considered the Wave but for the size and weight I'll stick with my XE6.

I feel that 3 flat heads are way too many, especially for a medium size (CS4) MT. So many other surfaces on that tool that could serve in a pinch. Small and medium are plenty for me, put some scissors, a saw or an awl in instead. Couldn't care less about a cork screw. How many French men are buying these things anyway?? Thanks for review; nice vid. I used to carry the Leatherman Juice as you recommend, but I had the pliers "spring" (and thus were no longer lined up when closed) after some heavy use, which was my fault really. I have gone to the heavier-duty, (less functions unfortunately) Leatherman Skeletool. Leatherman was really good though; they replaced Juice free of charge when I sent it to them. Excellent company and I own at least a dozen variations of their tools/knives (many due to your reviews).
