For painting, I would recommend nail art brushes and/or miniatures paintbrushes. These are super thin paint brushes that make it easy to make tiny dots.

because the strawberries are indented, if you fully wiped them with the tissue the yellow paint (in theory) wouldve stayed in the grooves and it wouldnt have been so thick

Next time use a sewing needle! Spread the paint out a bit on your palette, and touch the needle to the paint. Then, when you make your dots, they will be MINISCULE and you can always drag the paint out into a bigger circle if need be. The reason the strawberries didnt turn out right is bcs strawberry seeds are SO tiny in proportion to the fruit, you needed pin pricks of colour rather than dots/blobs

For future paintings of Minis you should thin the paint with water a little bit! Especially when using acrylics since paint like that tends to be stiff

specifying that it's blue mounting putty is actually helpful since I often do other stuff while watching these. they're good videos to chill out and crochet to :) plus, I think KZfaqrs usually verbally describe what they're doing in videos in a way that'd feel goofy if you were talking to a friend, but to viewers it's what we expect!

Strawberry seeds are actually yellow, but I totally understand your point. I think because they ended up way yo big for the tiny Strawberries 🍓 they now look less like real ones and more a little like an alien fruit.

The strawberries 🍓 did look a little like they needing popping all over lots of pimples I thought 😂😂 Except the last couple weren’t as bad. But it looked great take and that pork dish looked amazing

The white 'cream' cleans up just fine with baby wipes. Thats what i use to clean up the resin too. Plane old Costco baby wipe. There also great for getting Sharpie off of Skin as well.

Definitely very creative. I loved the extra stuff. I guess MasterChef was going for minimalist, but I love the fuller look of both items. Definitely a lot better than their creations. But I guess if you’re a beginner it might be easier to start basic then work up to where you are

I just googled to see for myself, and the average strawberry does have yellow to a brown/yellow seed. I'd have to look again for more examples to see if there are ones with white seeds too. There are white strawberries though that have red/brown seeds.

The seeds are yellow to brown, sometimes showing green within the yellow coloring. Once the seeds mature to germinate, they turn brown, not black

Hello & Kia Ora G. B. The sponge cake is not over crowded, it's decadent, gorgeous & scrumptious. We in England called them just roast potatoes. We also call them roast potatoes in New Zealand too. The pork maybe stuffed with apricots. The herb in the roast potatoes is mint. Oh roast pork with roast potatoes And carrots.... yummy. Nice work. You have a very steady hand G. Not an expert but i think if the resin is too transparent you can always just cure it first and then add another layer. Hope it works 💛💛

when i had a mini brands with the whipped cream, i found that releasing pressure on the can after pushing the amount i want out, then pressing down with the tip before pulling back gave me the shape that i wanted. you kinda use the piping tip as a ‘stamp’. i also have experience with real cake decorating so thats where my technique came from. if you squeeze while pulling back itll mess up the shape

Hi GB! The secret with the Mini Brands whipped cream is to press down when applying but don't make that much come out. Push down and don't pull up or you won't get the spiralled dallops, just like the real whipped cream canister. Btw, the strawberries were throwing me off lol! The Mini Brands Tomato reduction was spot on color for ketchup, which Miniverse should've done. 😁

Ah caulking , ya good comparison to that whip cream since in construction the real thing is used against the walls put up to cover any holes made of conduit or pipes or to cover nail head and such before painting ! ^^ your works amazing !

Some tips for next time! 1- use photo references for color matching, if you want a slightly more realistic look! Slightly watered-down paints with a very, *very* thin point used as a dotting tool is best for this kind of thing! 2- I got *super* nervous when you brought out the silicone mat, because the fake whipped cream is also silicone! Silicone sticks to silicone and will just ruin everything, so be very careful with it! I think everything turned out great! Keep up the great work!

The strawberry cake is cute! I think when it comes to drips on cake, less is more. On a bigger cake, drips can be small so its not as visually overwhelming, but bc these cakes are so small, the drip so going to be big unless you paint on a tiny one. So, just using a few drips around the cake will probably get the idea across better.

hi new sibscriber here i love your vids! i have some tips if you're painting something where you wanna bring out the texture- you should try out miniature paint washes! for example with the strawberries you could have applied a wash after coloring the seeds which would tone down the seed color and blend it better with the strawberry color. citadel colour has a wash set that's pretty popular. i love seeing all the extra details you add to these minis and i think washes will be an easy way to boost them more 😊

I would say to make it easier to get the little dimples yellow I’d dip the strawberry in the paint and wipe of the excess so you’re left with paint on the holes

You should thin your paint when painting miniatures! That way it wouldn’t be spiky like you saw. You can just thin it with water or you can use flow medium which I think keeps the consistency a bit more intact. For these strawberries if you thin the paint with water and add just a drop of dish soap that will make a wash. You can then paint that all over the strawberry, let it dry a bit, and then wipe off the excess paint. Then you should get wash that stays in the crevices/seeds of the strawberries!

Also I learned that UV resin MUST be hit by UV light to be cured. You can’t just hit part of the resin with the UV light and have the curing process kick through the whole of the resin. So the resin under your pork loin that couldn’t really get hit by the light probably isn’t cured so be careful!

Next time I think you should try a tan color rather than yellow for the seeds. BTW, acetone will remove acrylic, so if you mess up you could try again. Your desert looks delicious and your main dish looks wonderfully artistic. I think you're improving. Oh, hey, you're exactly the same type of cross dominant that I am. I do most things left handed, but I wear watches and use scissors like a right handed person.

I think it’s great to do your own thing,but I like the cake ( strawberry) the way they made it. Probably because I prefer whip cream over chocolate!

I think for the strawberries, they would have looked better if you'd heavily thinned some dark red paint and done a wash on them. It would have muted the yellow a bit, and settled into any little crevices present

We lefties use our right hand for scissors because there aren't enough left handed scissors in the world. I had to adapt to right handed everything in school because there was never enough left handed equipment. In a way I'm glad because I'm able to use whatever is available.

Hello. I am completely left handed & I use scissors in my left hand but I use them upside down 😂😂 lucky I have small fingers. I was the only child in my infant school that was left handed in the 1960's. Pain in the bottom I can tell you. Caulk is not so hard to clean up. It cures sorta rubbery, so if you can get an initial lift, you can basically just pull it off, maybe with a little scraping here and there. In building, I have never had an issue with caulk, either being abrasive to my skin or being too hard to clean. 24 hours is usually recommended with caulk. Maybe a good call not to pronounce the word, but trust me, we English speakers know our language is needlessly difficult. We're quite forgiving if people make a humorous mistake.
