This is an important exercise as it shows how much of what we consider "old" when looking at old footage from before the 60s is influenced by the way it was shot. I dare say some parts of the world in the 30s would look more modern if shot with a modern smartphone than other places today shot in the same way.

Very important video. You can very clearly see what is timeless and what is not. Especially with the laptop shot at the end, I would say the lighting is just as integral for indicating to me that the shot is from today as the laptop was. The two other obvious things, of course, are fashion and epigenetics. THANK YOU for making this video!

Great concept !!! You know what makes it amazing, -- 1:55 the girl posing and the same girl PLUS a woman looking towards the camera as if they never saw a camera before, just like a 1910 movie 😅
