Rola/ Grand theft auto, the should make virtual software more realistic by having a car drivers cut you off, open doors in front of you, shout stuff at you and avoid potholes.

Very much enjoyed hearing about the ‘unknown’ or smaller bike companies. Any chance in doing a special, probably one focused on road and one focused on gravel, that highlights niche manufacturers only, who they are, what they build, where they’re from etc? For example, I’m looking at a gravel bike, but don’t necessarily want to get straight into Trek, BMC, Canyon territory. Thanks….👊

Not all 90s mountain bikes were iconic like those ones. My cheap 90s mountain bike was very similar to my current cheap gravel bike and I use it for similar types of rides. My decent 90s road bike is still my current decent road bike - well, the frame, headset, seat post, and the blue anodised chain ring bolts are: the rest is trigger's broom.

29:00 The bike has an inivitive bottle cage where the bottle mounts directly using magnets; called "Fidlock". i have used them before and they are great

Businesses are in business to make money, plain and simple. If they can get the price they want, they will continue to increase their prices from there with clever marketing and "revisions and upgrades." The only way that will change, is if enough consumers stop buying bikes at full price. Of course, there are so many people willing to pay the exorbitant prices for a bikes that you'll have to 1. work harder to earn more money 2. save up longer or 3 buy used and upgrade as you go. We all have choices.

I wonder what cables are integrated to the Ridley Kanzo Fast? Hydraulic brakes use hoses and Di2 uses wires. Are the cables integrated into the frame walls for reinforcement (like steel rods are integrated into concrete to end up as reinforced concrete)?

Eagle eyed conor, I've now installed ridenow tpu tubes in my dare, so nice equi height black valve stems and black caps.but wouldn't some nice red gcn bottles put the finishing touches to it, if only I knew where to get some??? .. but thanks for the super nice.. my first bike build.. 😊

Remember when the bike vault was about nice bikes and not arbitrary bollocks about valves alignment and where the bike was leaning? Those were the days! Snark aside, it was nice when it was more about shared enthusiasm on people's bikes rather than a nit picking contest.

Got to agree with Alex about the affordability of bikes. I recently replaced my 2014 Cervelo R5 with a 2023 Cervelo Soloist and would say the dollar value probably favours the Soloist because it came with the Reserve wheels. When I purchased the R5 in 2014 I still had to go out and buy a good set of wheels and tyres. That being said, the guy that bought my R5 was over the moon with the deal (steal) he got. Top end bikes have ALWAYS been expensive.

That ‘Forwards’ gravel bike is the same as my On One Freeranger, but they’ve added £1k to the price. I paid £1799 in 2022 for sram force carbon spec build

And I wouldn't say modern gravel bikes were born from '90s mountain bikes, more from '90s Paris-Roubaix bikes with suspension, no? And those gravel bikes actually won Monuments three decades ago, something no mountain bike ever did. 😀

Just a suggestion 😊. New format needed for bike vault. It's the part of the segment where I tune out. It seems awkward when everyone votes for the top bike, it's gorgeous, and they criticize it for a "jaunty angle". Love the show! Keep up the good work! I watch them all!

@@cjohnson3836 I thought I might be the only one……but clearly four people (see above) agree with me. BTW, I am not bored with the bikes alone but with the entire gravel nonsense. If you want to ride off road there have been been folks doing it on mountain bikes for more than 30 years. I am a road cyclist and I bought my first Canondale mtb in 1991 on my return from the Gulf War. I still have it.

How about videoing a ride of your own and have that put up on a screen when doing an indoor session? To me that would mean more than mere graphics. Actually can't stand the graphics used on Zwift etc. I want a real view.
