It's not surprising that Asian men have T levels 20% higher than others. Asian diets are really balanced. Fruits, vegetables, fatty fish and carbs are super well incorporated with balance in daily diets, unlike the American diet. You also don't see a ton of obesity going on in Asian society. To bring more context from the judges perspective : They implied that Arvind Spartacus has already won many international shows n is an international caliber physique competitor. They said that Arvind should let other guys also win shows, cos any show arvind steps on in india, he pretty much smokes everybody. Not that i agree with the judges, but thats what they imply whenever they disqualify any of the top indian guys. The judges want the top guys to start exploring international shows which they seldom do due to lack of financial support back in india.
@korbaul
@korbaul 2 жыл бұрын
I would assume that these Indian judges are somewhat “experts” in the bodybuilding field to be picked as judges. That leads me to believe that they of all people would know the financial struggles that career bodybuilders (not hobbyist) face and the reasons why one wants to compete in local competitions and hopefully win... Throwing competitors off the stage and criticizing them on the basis that it might not be fair for other competitors doesn’t make sense to me. The judges are clearly MORE influential than the athletes competing (hence their judge status) so why are they blaming the athletes when instead they should be fighting for these athletes... On a side note, IF the judges feel these competitors are “too good” to compete in local competitions, doesn’t that also mean that they recognize these individuals to have the better physique? “You belong in the more competitive and better remunerated international competitions because you’re better. This is why we think you should be LOSING the less competitive local show.” I can’t comprehend how that logic would work... Apologies for the rant...

What seems stupid is that Men's Physique started out as a "beach body" division and now all the top guys are massive and bigger than a lot of Classic guys, which basically defeats the purpose of why the division was made in the first place. All these guys should really be competing in Classic and Physique SHOULD be smaller, more natty looking physiques. At this rate Men's Physique will just turn into an open-lite similar to 212 division.

From what I found, there are 3 divisions: Physique, Classic Physique, and Bodybuilding. He picked the Physique division which is geared toward entry level and they look for more of a beach body. I’m sure they have. The thing is, they have sandbagging rules. He could have easily won a harder class, so him choosing a lower level just to take the win with ease was considered sandbagging and he was punished for it. He should have followed the rules if he wanted a win. From what I have seen trying to translate the rules myself, the class he signed up for was for people who had been training under a certain timeframe, and he had been entering competitions for well over that limit. Basically, he was a known expert that tried to sign up for a novice specific class.

And I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Indian judges for their dedication to keep it a Men's physique show unlike the US where it's slowly becoming more and more like Men's Open BB 2.0. So Men's physique is not for professionals? Are Physique competitions for amateurs, Natural or Fitness (not bodybuilding)

I think what OP means is that this is not the pro qualifier. This is the equivalent to a regional show in the States. But at least here, a regional show is a qualifier to nationals. A qualifier for a qualifier if you will. But how does this guy qualify for Indian nationals if he keeps gets disqualified from these regionals?

@@theunknownsamurai7426 No, that's not what I meant. Men's Physique is part of bodybuilding competitions in India but their conduct may not adhere to international stipulations. The problem is that we don't have one single association or federation at the national level. Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (IBBFF) and Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) amongst others, are two well known national level federations. Different federations have different rules, regional ones have their own and so on it goes. The Amateur Olympia is organized by IBBFF as a separate event which shall award 21 International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Pro cards. Other federations have their own international affiliations, tie-ups, arrangements and awards. This causes the confusion. At regional level, it's far more chaotic.

I kinda understand it. They even tell him he should have weighted classic, so for the physique category they do not want big guys. Its like in the golden times of bodybuilding, if someone looked like todays bodybuilding mountains of flesh with 7 month pregnancy stomach, they would have made last place. So it makes sense that they have a certain standard for their physique category. And also they are not wrong, he should have participated in a different category. He is big enough and even did bodybuilding.

They should tell him at weigh in not embarrass him on stage. Also instead of disqualifying him just place him bad if you think his physique is not suited.

@@JusJusJusJus 3 categories. men's physique, classic physique and body builder. His body is above men's physique category. Just imagine bodybuilding category competing in mens physique. Like pro boxers competing in amateur division. Like pro soccer players playing in highschool competitions. The skill and category is wrong. In the first place too, there should be a screening done, if your body fits in a category or not to prevent this disqualification due to overqualification. The judges were fair in the rule sense but the organizer of the competition made a mistake for not properly screening the competitors. Maybe they just think the bigger the better. If you want to enter men's physique you should not be too big and too defined. It should look more natural athletic fit, that's what makes this type of competition not all brawn but brains too. You control yourself, plan what you do and eat so that you would fit in the category.

Really useful to watching this 10 days post rupture. Being a heavily active person and PT it would seem id might lean towards surgey but im going through nhs and self employed so i am leaning convervative. A question I didnt get answered but would be really useful if anyone has any experience is can you treat later with surgery just as effectively...say in a year or two if needs be after initially going conservative?
