Wisdom and Well Being: Making Healthcare Work Better for Physicians and Patients
Session 13:
The ultimate goal of this session is to inspire physicians to raise their voices and reclaim the practice of medicine! Get equipped with helpful strategies by gaining insights into the successes and shortcomings of current physician wellness programs, understanding what works well, what does not, and why. Dr. Stump will also discuss the importance of advocacy and the benefits of incorporating (and cultivating!) humanistic approaches into medical training.
Objectives:
1. Discuss the discrepancy between physician wellness programs and physician needs to demonstrate examples of physician wellness programs that may be working to guide those wanting to start them in their chapters/organizations.
2. Discuss how humanism in practitioners (and cultivating this) can lead to improved coping skills, processing, and present awareness in our workplace.
3. Address how to take back medicine to discuss feeling valued, seen, and heard in our workplaces while navigating a complex medical system.
